00:10what went into that audition process well that that audition process they called me out
00:15to la um i think i went to meet the producers um and the creators
00:20um for the a character on the morning show okay initially and they
00:25they were sort of set sat then and by this point little did i know they'd been auditioning
00:28everyone for the character
00:30billy dunn and i walked in very innocently kind of going i'm ready to play jennifer aniston
00:35love interest um and they were like actually you'd be right for this other project
00:40we're auditioning i was okay great sure send send it my way i'll give it a read and by that
00:45point i then flew back to england but as soon as i got back to england they said can you come back
00:48oh my god
00:50just left there that's a long as far so i flew back to la and they
00:55kind of wanted me to sign on the dotted line before i even auditioned so i was like kind of considering
00:59like it was quite
01:00big commitment but i flew to la and needed to prepare um to prepare
01:05uh a 1970s rock song and my i'll be honest my my uh
01:10knowledge of that era of music wasn't very good i was like i don't know if i can
01:15sing this or sing that and i i sort of chose elton john's your song which
01:20isn't the most rock and roll 1970s sort of rock you know
01:25it does the accent it's a ballad yeah it's a ballad it's the job it does the job it showed
01:30my voice enough for them to go do you know what and it was my first time ever stepping into a record
01:35recording studio
01:35wow they were like that's intimidating sam yeah it was
01:40singing your song is intimidating yes exactly and and and they they heard the song
01:45they were like yeah great um can can can you how about this song and they brought the the
01:50producer walked in with the guitar and started playing come together and i was like oh yeah
01:54yeah
01:55he's like do you know who sings i was like yeah yeah yeah um michael jackson it's like it's
02:00the beatles i was like oh okay so that's how far i needed to come i mean my knowledge
02:05knowledge was terrible i was like no michael jackson definitely did a rendition of that song and i
02:09stand

02:15and then i had all the chemistry reads so i did a scene with um will harris
02:20who plays my brother graham and i did a couple of scenes with riley and then i did a scene with
02:25miller and you know you had all the producers there watching it and all the cast that were already cast so
02:30were there so it was very intimidating
