00:15Espinosa, the Scandinavian filmmaker who directed Safe House and last year's sci-fi thriller
00:20will direct the movie. The film has a script by Burke Sharpless and Matt Sazima.
00:25The duo who created Netflix's Lost in Space remake. The project is based on the anti-hero Morbius
00:30the living vampire. Morbius is Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who suffered
00:35from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself with disastrous results.
00:40Instead of being cured, he became afflicted with a condition that was a form of vampirism.
00:45The thirst for blood, along with fangs and super strength. He also fought Spider-Man.
00:50However, over time, he became a slightly heroic figure in his own right, and even headlined his
00:55own comic book titles. Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane.
01:00And first appeared in 1971's Amazing Spider-Man No. 101. The first issue
01:05not written by Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee. In the past, Leto has chosen projects that
01:10had indie sensibilities, winning an Oscar for his work in Dallas Buyers Club. But in real
01:15recent years, the actor has been targeting roles in tentpole or franchise projects. In addition to playing
01:20the popular DC villain in 2016's Suicide Squad, Leto portrayed a sinister
01:25character in Blade Runner 2049 and is attached to a Tron sequel.
