00:00Cortina is a special place for you. What does it mean to be having potentially your final Olympics in Cortina?
00:05I think it's one of the most meaningful parts of this journey and really the reason why I'm on this journey.
00:10Obviously I needed a new replacement to be here, but I don't think I would have come back if it hadn't.
00:15And Cortina as the host for the Olympics. I had my first podium.
00:20In Cortina it's where I really figured out how to truly race downhill.
00:25In a competitive way and it's also where I broke the Women's World Cup win record.
00:30I don't have very many World Cups where my family attended and that was one of them when I broke the record.
00:35So hopefully this will be a full circle moment. I can end my career at one of my favorite places.
00:40And make another meaningful memory.
00:43You've already won Olympic gold medals. What matters?
00:45Do you think more about this Olympics? The medals or the results or just the journey to this point?
00:49I mean I think
00:50I think the journey in and of itself is a victory. I'm 41 years old with a partial leave.
00:55I'm 41 years old with a new replacement. I don't think, you know me included, anyone would have ever thought that I would be.
01:00In this position. And I think just being here with everything I've been through.
01:05It's pretty remarkable and I have to kind of take a step back and think about it.
01:10And appreciate that I'm even able to have this opportunity.
01:14So yeah.
01:15It's been incredible.
01:16How different is it to be prepared for an Olympics at 41 than it was at 70?
01:20I mean it's really the same. I think it's just that everything has changed.
01:25As far as the way we approach nutrition and therapy, recovery and training.
01:30You know I work out just as hard but maybe smarter than I used to.
01:35I always did three sessions. I think I definitely over trained when I was younger.
01:40And the way I've implemented a cleaner diet I think has helped my recovery.
01:45As well.
01:46So I'm training harder, smarter, and more efficient.
01:49And I think.
01:50Because of that I'm able to do a lot more than I was when I was a lot younger.
01:55As well.
01:56It really does.
01:57But it adds Mirawan.
01:58You know that.
01:59It's just so important.
