00:00Today I'm interviewing one of the most defining figures from the last quarter century of celebrity
00:05history a true icon Paris Hilton and I started our careers around the same
00:10time in the two thousands I wrote about her in the pages of the magazines I've worked for she was the
00:15original influencer as the socialite queen of the nightlife with the famous last name
00:20after a very public betrayal involving a leaked sex tape Paris did something people did
00:25expect she leveraged her notoriety and built a ground-breaking reality show
00:30an entertainment empire that she estimates to be worth one billion dollars today
00:35she's a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur with ventures in music fashion skincare and even
00:40as 30 fragrances and for many people the idea of Paris Hilton still comes
00:45up someone impossibly unrelatable wrapped in luxury and privilege she's the last
00:50person you'd imagine to be just like us but in recent years Paris has evolved beyond
00:55just being a successful businesswoman she's become more vulnerable and opened up to tell her full
01:00story and what was really going on behind the glitter and glamour in doing so she's made
01:05valuable contributions to the world in a 2020 documentary this is Paris she told her how
01:10the following story of being sent off to Utah's Provo Canyon School and became an advocate for
01:15survivors of the troubled teen industry leading to the passing of legislation reform she also
01:20uses her platform to talk about the misogynistic treatment of women in media and her charity
01:25work including launching funds for wildlife relief and is a vocal advocate for animals
01:30and for its national welfare and for the neurodivergent and the LGBTQ communities
01:35So although Paris may live the high life and may or may not have an entire...
01:40...dedicated to her 10,000 pairs of sunglasses, she has challenges and setbacks that...
01:45...to reveal, she may just be just like us. Today we'll dive deep into her life and...
01:50...documentary Infinite Icon, a visual memoir and assess how just like us...
01:55...this is Paris Hilton.
02:00So do you have a room for 10,000 sunglasses?
02:04I have lots of sunglasses.
02:05And that was at my other house that I just moved into. So this house...
02:10...has my glam room and it has my 10,000 sunglasses in it, yeah.
02:14So I like to start...
02:15...at my interviews with a little ritual about something personal about the person...
02:19...and I was so dumb.
02:20Confounded that you have 30 perfumes. I asked your team to send me some.
02:25...so that we could test them. So tell me about this one.
02:28This is my 30th fragrance.
02:30And it's called Iconic. And it is so beautiful. It has like...
02:34It really...
02:35...the rose tint. I love rose.
02:37Yes.
02:38It's like peony, raspberry...
02:40...rose. Those are some of the notes. And it's just like...
02:45...the house is just like very...
02:47...light, summery.
02:49...gorgeous.
02:50And I feel like men and women could both wear it.
02:53I would... I wear rose tint tones.
02:55And sometimes.
02:56I love it.
02:57What...
02:58If you've got 30 perfumes, how do you decide what...
03:00...to wear in the morning?
03:02I...
03:03...just kind of like what mood I'm in.
03:05I love that I have one literally for like every day of the month because there's 30.
03:08And do you only wear your own?
03:09Yeah.
03:10Yes.
03:11I've not worn another person's perfume since I was a little girl.
03:14But it's such a...
03:15...because when I was a little girl I would always go into my mom's boudoir and she collects perfumes.
03:20And my sister and I would be playing with all of them.
03:22And I was like, Mom, one day I'm going to have my own perfume.
03:25So...
03:25So now to have just released my 30th is just another dream come true.
03:28Well, it's not just like us to have...
03:30...but they are quite reasonable, right?
03:32What a surprise point.
03:33Yes.
03:34These are at Ulta Beauty.
03:35And for the size, this one's 80.
03:38So we're here in your craft room.
03:40And this helps your ADHD, right?
03:42It does.
03:43This is like...
03:44If you...
03:45If you looked inside my mind, what it looks like.
03:47I feel like the camera can't see at all because like...
03:50...the top with the rainbow and the butterflies, the clouds.
03:53Like...
03:54It feels like a dream.
03:55And when I walk in here with the kids, like we have so much fun doing art and just hanging out and...
04:00It's also my office and I love being able to look out the window and see...
04:05...like my 11-11 office and the waterfall and the just beautiful backyard.
04:10And all of it.
04:11It just...
04:12It's your safe space.
04:13Yeah.
04:14It just literally looks...
04:15Like when I was little, I would make like mood boards and like manifest what I wanted.
04:20In life, I really...
04:21Like this is what it was.
04:22And crafting gives you that...
04:23Yeah.
04:24That safe space.
04:25I love it.
04:26Well, you're...
04:27We're here in your home.
04:28It's absolutely beautiful.
04:29It's Beverly Hills.
04:30It is not quite just like us, but it is very unapologetically you.
04:35Are there any elements of just like us around the house?
04:38Are there like piles of unfolded lawns?
04:40Are there laundry?
04:41Are there dishes fill in the sink?
04:42I feel like it's just like...
04:45Any other family's house with kids.
04:47You know, there's toys everywhere.
04:49There's...
04:50Of course, like the laundry room as a laundry.
04:52Um, but then also we have like a water slide and...
04:55Like the pink tennis court and all the other fun things.
04:59It's like...
05:00The ultimate fun house.
05:01Like I feel like this is like the house I dreamed of since I was a little girl.
05:05So it's fabulous, but it's relatable and family just like everybody else.
05:09Just like regular folks.
05:10And I think that's what your new documentary really shows as well.
05:14It's an...
05:15It's an exploration into the human side of you, just like our side of you.
05:19Because it shows your...
05:20Life as a music icon and it marries that with the vulnerability of what...
05:25You've gone through.
05:26Behind the stardust and the glitter, it says I am...
05:30You're human.
05:31Like what do you want people to take away from the documentary?
05:34I feel that...
05:35This is really like a third part of a trilogy.
05:38Like the first time I really opened up...
05:40And, you know, showed people who I was, was through my first documentary.
05:44This is Paris.
05:45And then going even deeper through my memoir.
05:48And now in this part...
05:50With Infinite Icon, it's like my whole life through the lens of music.
05:55And just going back, you know, from the beginning, since I was a...
06:00Little Girl and all these dreams that I had.
06:02But then just going into so much more.
06:05Because I feel like within these past five years, I've just been on this whole journey.
06:10Of self-discovery and just learning so much and healing so much.
06:15And just so much has happened.
06:16So I just wanted to show that story and...
06:20I feel like it's also a story that others can relate to as well.
06:22I think we're going to talk through lots of those different points.
06:25On there, but to start with the music, I loved seeing you on the stage and so happy.
06:30And it being such a fulfilling journey.
06:32How does it feel to be up there when you're performing?
06:35When I'm on stage, it feels like the most incredible, magical feeling.
06:40In the world, just seeing everyone in the audience so happy and...
06:45excited and screaming and crying and singing along and dancing and just the...
06:50energy and love in the room is like another level.
06:53And when I'm up there, I just feel like...
06:55this was what I was born to do.
06:56It's funny because I've followed your career and worked with...
07:00you and covered your career for so long.
07:03And I never realized that music...
07:05was the pure love.
07:07And so, like, it made me wonder watching...
07:10the documentary.
07:11Do you feel that becoming famous before you explore music...
07:15hampered your ability to become a pop star quicker?
07:18Yeah, I do.
07:19I think that...
07:20just, you know, from doing The Simple Life, like a reality show...
07:23I think anyone who does reality...
07:25and then if they go into music...
07:27you're just not going to be taken seriously.
07:29And...
07:30especially during the early 2000s...
07:32when just the media...
07:34was...
07:35just extremely cruel to young women in the industry.
07:38So...
07:40it was always...
07:41really hurtful to me because it was just such a dream of mine,
07:44you know.
07:45ever since I could remember what I'd love to do...
07:47since I was literally, like, three years old.
07:49Like...
07:50I just...
07:51always wanted to be a pop star...
07:52but...
07:53I just felt that...
07:54my music didn't...
07:55didn't get the chance that it deserved...
07:56because...
07:57the media was controlling everything back then...
07:59and...
08:00now today, with social media, I'm actually able to hear what...
08:03the fans and people really think.
08:05so...
08:06And you can control your own narrative...
08:07and have your own voice.
08:08Yes, exactly.
08:09Well, I was a part of that media...
08:10you were at the time...
08:11I don't think I was mean to you...
08:12but I'd like to apologise...
08:13and...
08:14but...
08:15have you got any questions...
08:15for me about, like, at that time...
08:17covering the media and how unfair it was?
08:19Like...
08:20for you, I'm sure, just being in...
08:22the newsroom...
08:23Yeah.
08:24like...
08:25were you ever...
08:25pressured for them...
08:26to try...
08:27to make you...
08:28do or say things that you felt...
08:29like...
08:30uncomfortable asking?
08:31like...
08:32you felt like it was...
08:33going too far sometimes?
08:34I think there were times when there were...
08:35stories...
08:36where...
08:37I look back...
08:38and I'm like...
08:39why...
08:40did...
08:41they take that...
08:42direction...
08:43and it questions...
08:44I think...
08:45I believe media reflects society...
08:47and society was meaner back then...
08:49and that's...
08:50what people wanted...
08:51now people don't...
08:52want that...
08:53there's different meaner elements...
08:54on social media...
08:55but I think it's an...
08:56interesting question...
08:57or I think...
08:58there are certainly things...
08:59I regret being involved in.
09:00back at the time...
09:01and...
09:02I think the media has done better...
09:03in recent years...
09:04and I hope you find that...
09:05as well...
09:06definitely...
09:07I know that...
09:08so many of the things...
09:09you know...
09:10the way that...
09:10myself and other girls...
09:11were treated back then...
09:12would not happen today...
09:13it would not be accepted...
09:14so at least it's...
09:15changed for other people...
09:16so I think that's...
09:17like the silver lining...
09:18you had to go for...
09:19a lot of pain...
09:20to get there...
09:21a big theme from the documentary...
09:22of music saving your life...
09:23tell me...
09:24how that worked for you...
09:25just...
09:27you know...
09:28just from going through...
09:29so many traumatic experiences...
09:30as a teenager...
09:32and...
09:33you know...
09:34it was just so...
09:35painful...
09:36and traumatizing...
09:37and...
09:38when I got out...
09:39of those boarding schools...
09:40I just remember...
09:41like when I would...
09:42go out at night...
09:43it was like...
09:44the one thing...
09:45that I would just...
09:45forget about...
09:46all the pain...
09:47and just like...
09:48lose myself in the music...
09:49and have so much fun...
09:50and I just...
09:50felt...
09:51like this whole community...
09:52or I just felt...
09:53so accepted...
09:54and...
09:55no one was...
09:56judgmental...
09:55it was just...
09:56all about having...
09:57an incredible time...
09:58and...
09:59just...
10:00I don't know...
10:01I just...
10:02I love music...
10:03I love to dance...
10:04I love the lights...
10:05I love...
10:06the people...
10:05the escapism...
10:06yeah...
10:07you've been through...
10:08so much...
10:09and you touched...
10:10on some of it there...
10:10what has been...
10:11the hardest thing...
10:12to recover from...
10:13you've dealt with...
10:14sexual abuse...
10:15as a kid...
10:15so...
10:16the sex tape...
10:17the media treatment...
10:18what was the...
10:19what's...
10:20been the hardest...
10:20thing to heal from...
10:21do you think?
10:22hmm...
10:23all of it...
10:24you know...
10:25I think...
10:25these are things...
10:26that will...
10:27definitely affect me...
10:28for the rest of my life...
10:29but...
10:30especially...
10:30being...
10:31in these schools...
10:32which...
10:33my parents were told...
10:34it was called...
10:35a...
10:35emotional growth...
10:36boarding schools...
10:37and...
10:38they were sold...
10:39a lie...
10:40these places...
10:41are so many...
10:40manipulative...
10:41and...
10:42their marketing tactics...
10:43everything...
10:44they had brochures...
10:45where kids were...
10:45smiling...
10:46and...
10:47there was like...
10:48rainbows...
10:49and people were...
10:50riding horses...
10:51and everyone...
10:52looked so happy...
10:53in that situation...
10:54and...
10:55it was terrifying...
10:56just to be around...
10:57these adults...
10:58who...
10:58were literally...
10:59abusing...
11:00all of us...
11:01in so many ways...
11:02and...
11:03it's just...
11:04it took...
11:05many years...
11:06for me...
11:07to even talk about it...
11:08it was so...
11:08traumatizing...
11:09where it took me...
11:10you know...
11:1120 years...
11:12to even tell anyone...
11:13why do you think...
11:14there was...
11:15a shame...
11:16attached to it...
11:17definitely...
11:18and I think that's...
11:18the way they get away...
11:19with it...
11:20where they shame...
11:21the kids in these places...
11:22so much...
11:23where they're...
11:23we...
11:24were just too...
11:25embarrassed...
11:26and scared...
11:27to talk about it...
11:28and it was just...
11:28so...
11:29the things that happened...
11:30were just so like...
11:31crazy...
11:32it just...
11:33it...
11:33you wouldn't feel like...
11:34anyone would believe you...
11:35or...
11:36and...
11:37you kind of...
11:38go into...
11:38being told you're a bad kid...
11:39this is why you're here...
11:40yeah...
11:41and it just...
11:42it was just...
11:43it's horrible...
11:44what they do in these places...
11:45and plus...
11:46they get away with it...
11:47because they can...
11:48say to the parents...
11:48oh...
11:49they're...
11:50they're bad kids...
11:51they're lying...
11:52they're manipulating...
11:53they're trying to...
11:54you know...
11:55go home...
11:53so they're gonna say...
11:54that we're abusing them...
11:55they're gonna say this...
11:56they kind of tell the parents...
11:57what they're actually doing...
11:58they're lying...
11:59they're lying...
12:00and of course...
12:01if you're sending your child...
12:02to a place...
12:03and you think...
12:03they're gonna be protected...
12:04and you have no idea...
12:05the type of people...
12:06that work at these places...
12:08it's...
12:09you know...
12:10a recipe for disaster...
12:11I mean...
12:12I read some of...
12:13in your memoir...
12:13that...
12:14you're encouraged...
12:15to verbally abuse...
12:16each other...
12:17and then hug each other...
12:18afterwards...
12:18to untangle...
12:19mental abuse like that...
12:20it's...
12:21it just...
12:22I don't understand it...
12:23it blows my mind...
12:24how they think...
12:25that that's therapy...
12:26and when you go...
12:27into a place...
12:28and you...
12:28come out...
12:29more traumatized...
12:30than when you went in...
12:31Did it make you scared...
12:32of therapy...
12:33after that?
12:34Yeah...
12:33I've never had therapy...
12:34You've never had...
12:35therapy after that...
12:36because...
12:37it made me not...
12:38trust anyone...
12:38especially...
12:39people...
12:40like therapists...
12:41because I just thought...
12:42they were all...
12:43those type of people...
12:43and...
12:44um...
12:45it was just...
12:46a neat...
12:47that being a mom...
12:48it just makes me...
12:49even more...
12:50just...
12:51upset...
12:52and that's why...
12:53I just want to...
12:54continue...
12:55fighting...
12:56and using...
12:57leave them...
12:58in so many years...
12:59until...
13:00I've told my story...
13:01and now...
13:02it's started...
13:03an entire movement...
13:04it's been so difficult...
13:05especially for my mom...
13:06and dad to hear...
13:07about these things...
13:08because they had...
13:09no idea...
13:10the forgiveness...
13:11like even though...
13:12they were tricked...
13:13the forgiveness...
13:14process for you...
13:15with that...
13:14it must have been...
13:15so difficult...
13:16because I knew...
13:17that they had no idea...
13:18because that's...
13:19none of the parents...
13:20knew that this was happening...
13:21and...
13:22um...
13:23it's been...
13:24yeah...
13:25it's been like...
13:26a whole...
13:27my mom has just been...
13:28so...
13:29sad...
13:30just to hear...
13:31what has happened...
13:32and she's been...
13:33coming with me...
13:34to DC...
13:34to help speak...
13:35with the other parents...
13:36and...
13:37to let them know...
13:38her story as well...
13:39because it's important...
13:39for other families to know...
13:40because I feel like...
13:41the parents are just as much...
13:42the victims in this...
13:43well thank...
13:44thank you for using...
13:45your voice for good...
13:46thank you...
13:47it's been...
13:48the most meaningful...
13:49work of my life...
13:50like...
13:51when I was a little girl...
13:52I would have...
13:53no idea...
13:54that one day...
13:54I would be...
13:55I was...
13:56testifying in Congress...
13:57I would have passed...
13:58fifteen...
13:59state laws...
14:00and...
14:01the past two...
14:02federal bills...
14:03to protect children...
14:04so...
14:05it may...
14:04makes it all worth it...
14:05that I'm able to...
14:06help that from happening...
14:07to others...
14:08you should be...
14:09proud...
14:09so...
14:10instead of...
14:11traditional therapy...
14:12music's been something...
14:13that really has helped...
14:14to escape...
14:14and to disassociate...
14:15with a lot of the pain...
14:16and the healing...
14:17what...
14:18what...
14:19do you think...
14:19would have happened...
14:20if you didn't have music...
14:21to help you?
14:22I don't know...
14:23I think...
14:24out of thinking...
14:25of everything in my life...
14:26like music...
14:27art...
14:28and music...
14:29things...
14:30that helped me so much...
14:31and...
14:32even through doing...
14:33this documentary...
14:34I've just seen...
14:34like the power...
14:35in music...
14:36and...
14:37even the power...
14:38in listening to a lyric...
14:39and a song...
14:39like something...
14:40that could change your mood...
14:41or even change your life...
14:42and...
14:43just so many...
14:44of my fans...
14:45have come up to me...
14:46and said...
14:47thank you so much...
14:48for your album...
14:49it saved my life...
14:49like...
14:50thank you for your memoir...
14:51you have no idea...
14:52how much it means to me...
14:53so just to see...
14:54like the impact...
14:55it could make...
14:56on someone's life...
14:57and...
14:58I love that I'm able now...
14:59to have these...
14:59concerts...
15:00and create these...
15:01safe spaces...
15:02where my fans can come...
15:03and...
15:04dress up...
15:05however they want to...
15:04wear like...
15:05these outfits...
15:06and have so much fun...
15:07and just...
15:08lose their self...
15:09in my music...
15:09and have the most...
15:10incredible night...
15:11and forget about...
15:12anything bad...
15:13that's happening...
15:14in their life...
15:14what's...
15:15what's the darkest moment...
15:16you've been through...
15:17was it in...
15:18Provo?
15:19yes...
15:20just the...
15:21things that happened...
15:22to those places...
15:23should never happen to it...
15:24anyone...
15:25and especially...
15:26not a child...
15:27and...
15:28just...
15:29being terrified...
15:30every single day...
15:31of like...
15:32what was gonna happen next...
15:33and then having...
15:34severe nightmares about it...
15:36for...
15:37you know...
15:3820 years...
15:39until I started talking...
15:39telling my story...
15:40Were there moments...
15:41where you didn't want...
15:42to be here anymore?
15:43What...
15:44when I was in there...
15:45I was...
15:46it felt...
15:47everyone I felt...
15:48felt that way...
15:49like...
15:50you just...
15:49was like...
15:50it would be better...
15:51not to live...
15:52than being in these...
15:53type of places...
15:54um...
15:56but...
15:57it did make me really strong...
15:58where...
15:59it almost...
15:59prepared me...
16:00for Hollywood...
16:01in a sense...
16:02because I don't know...
16:03if I could have...
16:04survived the two...
16:042000s...
16:05and the way...
16:06I was treated...
16:07unless I had already...
16:08been through...
16:09such hell before...
16:09documentary...
16:10there was a line...
16:11that really stuck with me...
16:12where you said...
16:13life doesn't stop...
16:14life doesn't stop...
16:15with the drama...
16:16so neither should you...
16:17and I found it...
16:18really interesting...
16:19and something...
16:20I've tried to embrace...
16:21like...
16:22life is crazy...
16:23and bad things...
16:24are always gonna happen...
16:25and you've just...
16:24got to...
16:25power through...
16:26and we see that...
16:27in the documentary...
16:28when the fire...
16:29happens in the trailer...
16:29and you're...
16:30you've just...
16:31got to keep going...
16:32it's a pivotal moment...
16:33in the production...
16:34of the...
16:34at all...
16:35how do you...
16:36manage to carry on...
16:37when bad things happen...
16:38and...
16:39you're somebody who...
16:39things have happened...
16:40constantly...
16:41and you...
16:42are always smiling...
16:43you're always positive...
16:44from going...
16:44through so much...
16:45in my life...
16:46it's made me...
16:47so strong...
16:48and resilient...
16:49where...
16:50I can make it...
16:49through anything...
16:50so no matter what...
16:51life throws at me...
16:52it just continues...
16:53to make me...

18:23that this is like...
18:24what they're meant...
18:25to be...
18:26so...
18:27even though it's been...
18:27so difficult...
18:28and hard...
18:29I try to think about...
18:30all the beautiful things...
18:31that come with it...
18:32and...
18:32and I really see...
18:33fame...
18:34as like...
18:35a superpower...
18:36to make people happy...
18:37so...
18:37I love that...
18:38I'm able to just...
18:39make people's days...
18:40by like...

18:50so I think that...
18:51the good things...
18:52you can do with it...
18:52and I love that...
18:53I'm able to use...
18:54my platform...
18:55just to make a difference...
18:56in other people's lives...
18:57so...
18:58even though...
18:59it has been...
19:00very traumatizing...
19:01at times...
19:02it's worth it...
19:03I like that...
19:04I love that...
19:05you're using your fame...
19:06and your platform...
19:07to do good in the world...
19:07how...
19:08how about money...
19:09how...
19:10do you think money...
19:11brings you happiness?
19:12It does...
19:12because I have worked...
19:13so hard...
19:14and...
19:15success is something...
19:16that is always...
19:17really...
19:18been a driving force...
19:19for me...
19:20and...
19:21I feel very lucky...
19:22just to...
19:22grow up in my family...
19:23and have incredible...
19:24business mentors...
19:25with my grandfather...
19:26and my parents...
19:27and...
19:28I always have...
19:29loved to make them...
19:30proud...
19:31and...
19:32I love that...
19:33I've created this...
19:34entire brand...
19:35and empire...
19:36and now...
19:371111...
19:37my media company...
19:38so...
19:39it...
19:40makes me happy...
19:41because I'm able...
19:42just to...
19:42feel...
19:43that happiness...
19:44and I think that...
19:45also...
19:46just from going...
19:47to those schools...
19:47and being so...
19:48controlled...
19:49that I made a promise...
19:50to myself...
19:51that I was gonna work...
19:52so hard...
19:52become so successful...
19:53that...
19:54no one could ever...
19:55control me...
19:56or tell me...
19:57what to do again...
19:58so...
19:57I really see it...
19:58as...
19:59freedom...
20:00so you used...
20:01the pain...
20:02that you went through...
20:02restrictions...
20:03and the abuse...
20:04to...
20:05drive your...
20:06your...
20:07ambition...
20:08yes...
20:09what...
20:10do you say...
20:11to people...
20:12who say...
20:13you've had it...
20:12easy...
20:13because...
20:14because you came...
20:15from money...
20:16I could totally...
20:17understand...
20:18people saying that...
20:17because of course...
20:18I'm very...
20:19privileged...
20:20that I'm...
20:21you know...
20:22came from a family...
20:22where I've been...
20:23able to...
20:24learn so much...
20:25from such...
20:26incredible...
20:27business...
20:27men...
20:28and women...
20:29and...
20:30just...
20:31you know...
20:32coming from...
20:33my last name...
20:32as well...
20:33so...
20:34but I've seen a lot...
20:35of other people...
20:36who come from...
20:37you know...
20:37prestigious families...
20:38and...
20:39a lot of them...
20:40don't do anything...
20:41like...
20:42a lot of people...
20:43I know...
20:44like...
20:45they just get like...
20:46an allowance...
20:47from their parents...
20:48still...
20:49they've never...
20:50worked a day...
20:51in their life...
20:52because they...
20:53are just...
20:54handed everything...
20:55and...
20:56they've never...
20:57had to work...
20:58for any of it...
20:57so...
20:58yes...
20:59I can understand people...
21:00they don't know...
21:01and don't see...
21:02how much work...
21:02has went into...
21:03everything that I do...
21:04and...
21:05just how...
21:06what I've created...
21:07and what I've built...
21:07and...
21:08you know...
21:09what I've...
21:10been through...
21:11on top of all that...
21:12so I think...
21:13if people know me...
21:14they understand...
21:14but then...
21:15if there's like...
21:15an outsider...
21:16who just...
21:16you know...
21:17sees...
21:17the name Paris Hilton so I can understand how some people would think that because I would say I'm
21:22self-made but like my granddad paid me to go to journalism school everybody's gonna get some help
21:26how much
21:27help did you get at the beginning um I like used to get like an allowance but
21:32I haven't got anything since I was 18. 18 so that's the same as me my
21:37mine was probably 21 through college so you didn't get money from a parent
21:42so there's no trust fund nothing like that I've been working since I was 16
21:47and so they didn't help with the deposit for a house or anything like that I did everything on my own
21:51so that's
21:52really not fair that people like criticize you for being not believing that you're
21:57self-made because there's a New York Post thing saying fans are reacting saying she's delusional
22:01thinking she's self
22:02right if they actually knew everything and saw everything they would understand
22:07that that's that's really interesting so congratulations how will you handle that balance
22:12balance with your own kids because obviously you've been incredibly successful
22:17how will you create the balance of trying to work out how much to support to give them
22:22uh I think it's you know I've just from growing up in this way and seeing so many
22:27others I think if you spoil your children you will destroy them so that's something
22:32that my husband and I talk about where we of course want to give them the most beautiful life make them so happy but
22:37we also want to instill that work ethic in them and make them want to do something with their own
22:42lives and I think with my babies growing up and seeing just how hard I work and
22:47everything I accomplish it's going to be really inspirational to them and that's why I've built so
22:52much at the house where I have like my recording studio here the podcasting studio the
22:57photo studio just like so much of my work I'm able to do from home and my kids are always
23:02there watching everything so I feel like that will be instilled in them just like any
23:07so I'm in a meeting here like they're sitting on my lap so like I feel like even though they're babies
23:11they're soaking it
23:12in and they'll continue to do so throughout their life so um yeah
23:17for my kids I just want them to be so happy and be incredible human beings and
23:22I want them to do whatever makes them happy you've talked a lot about reclaiming your narrative
23:26what's one
23:27misconception about Paris Hilton that you're still trying to correct
23:30I feel like I've been such
23:32an open book in the past five years where I've discussed everything
23:37so I don't really think there's any anymore I feel like I've cleared up so many misconceptions
23:42I feel like before they just you know thought I was a dumb blonde because of the simple life
23:47but I've proved that I am not a dumb blonde I'm just very good at pretending to be on
23:52well that comes on to my next question actually I loved in the
23:57movie when um you're doing a recording and somebody says you can use your real voice
24:02on this one and it reminded me I was on your BFF show with you back in the day
24:07and we would record and you'd have this baby voice saying that's hot
24:10and then we'd go off and you'll be with
24:12Benji talking about beats in this voice so low and I would just be like she's two different
24:16people
24:17and so like you you pretended to be somebody
24:22was that where did that come from was that protectionism protecting yourself by being
24:27a caricature or was that strategically to play a part and earn money
24:32I think you know I didn't even realize until you still do it
24:37that was higher Lola that was Lola see I literally can't even control it I think it's just such a part of me now
24:42because I've been doing it for so long um but I do think it was a trauma response to what I want
24:47I went through um where I just kind of wanted to build this perfect like a Barbie doll
24:52life and like a Disney kind of Barbie
24:57character
24:58and then um you know getting the simple life and then the producer
25:02is telling me you know we want you to play this kind of blonde spoiled airhead
25:07and play into this character and this was the first reality show and I had no idea
25:12I'd have to continue on that character for five seasons straight and then every talk show
25:17and everything I would go on I would be the character and then I just kind of got stuck in it almost because
25:22the whole world thought that's who I really was and I'm also a very naturally shy person
25:27so I feel like being the character it made it easier for me to kind of
25:32be silly and say say the ridiculous things I don't know I feel like if the simple life had me
25:37been talking in my normal voice and not playing the character it would not have been the show that it was
25:42I can see that I know Nikki your sister and she's shy too and that that shyness
25:47comes across with both of you and it's an understanding that like you're playing a part
25:52to get through social anxiety sometimes I'll do that at parties like I've got to be down
25:57wait for tonight so like how do you deal with social anxiety now
26:02I still have social anxiety and I think that might be the ADHD as well because I'm just so
26:07in my head all the time and I get just I think also since the pandemic like
26:12I've gotten just like way more anxiety than I used to
26:17but then if I'm around like if I bring like the best friend or like I'm with like a group of people I trust
26:22then I feel more comfortable but if I'm just like going in somewhere and not knowing
26:27anyone sometimes I get a little nervous but I think that's normal I feel like everyone
26:31I mean it's just like us
26:32it's just like regular folks everybody deals with mental health issues but people wouldn't imagine that Paris
26:37Hilton this striking beautiful blonde woman with everything would be nervous going into
26:42going into an event yeah I think people would definitely be surprised to know that
26:47what's your relationship with the character of Paris Hilton these days
26:52I think before I saw it as like a form of protection and now I see it as
26:57like my just fun silly side like you know there's a time and
27:02place for everything and like when I'm doing TikToks or just like doing certain content or
27:07you know like different campaigns with brands and they want me to play the character like I
27:12I will do it and I love doing it and then obviously when I go to
27:17DCC and I'm speaking on Capitol Hill and talking about serious subjects that's when you see
27:22like the real side of me but yeah I just I couldn't do it
27:27back and forth we can all have silly sides and serious sides so it's fun
27:32I think a lot of artists and people do like they are a lot of people I've spoken to like actors
27:37Beyonce, Sasha Fierce, JLo, Jennifer Lopez, we all have that and
27:42we all have the one when we're at home you know chilling in our sweats and just like
27:47back and just like ourselves so you are just like us you're playing the part of an entitled heiress
27:52but now 20 years have passed I have to ask you the question was the warm-up
27:57question set up or did you really not know what warm-up was at the time
28:03I did
28:04you did that
28:05I did yeah
28:06you do
28:07I just thought
28:07I thought it would be a funny line
28:08and you came up with a line
28:10I just yeah it wasn't like I thought about it
28:12in advance because I didn't even know we were going to talk about Walmart but when it came up I was like in my mind
28:17I was like this will be funny I had no idea it would be such an iconic line that people to this day still say
28:22and now I have like my entire kitchenware and home
28:27your fragrances were in Walmart
28:29all of it yeah so
28:30when was the last time you were in Walmart?
28:32I was there two weeks ago in Arkansas actually I go there all the time
28:37to go meet with the whole team out there and I was showing them all the new products from my new line
28:42for Paris and Pups and my new homeware line and kitchenware line and
28:47storage line and all of it I have so I have like over 400 SKUs of products
28:52inside of Walmart so now I know they don't sell walls they sell Paris Hilton Pratt
28:57you're just a comedy icon
29:00moving on to something a bit more difficult the sex
29:02the sex tape it's really heartbreaking looking back on the doc in the documentary and you talk
29:07about it that you had no agency about this besides Pamela Anderson
29:12you were the first celebrity to go through this publicly and
29:17internet was different copyright was different it was a wild wild west and now it would be impossible
29:22to happen like was there no way of stopping it coming out how was that
29:27time it was just humiliating
29:32so painful I did not want to leave my house I was just
29:35I was just
29:37it was just you know just trust somebody and have them violate
29:42violate me like that was just the most horrible thing that you could do to a person
29:47and there was nothing that I could do about it and
29:52yeah that's something that will haunt me the rest of my life and if that happened to
29:57the day it would be illegal
29:59um
30:01so
30:02I mean I think
30:03like another thing I went through that now would be illegal for people today so I think
30:07that again is the good part that other girls don't have to go through that but um
30:12yeah that was um
30:14I mean when you frame it that this was a young girl
30:17who didn't
30:18who was coerced to do this and then was publicly humiliated and
30:22flogged for it afterwards it like it really wasn't really
30:27wasn't fair I'm not going to mention the name of the guy because you cleverly didn't do that
30:32in the dark
30:33have you ever spoken to that ex again?
30:35no
30:36would you ever have
30:37conversation with him?
30:38no
30:39have you thought about when your kids find out
30:42about the sex tape and how you'll approach it with them?
30:45that
30:47that's going to be a really just painful subject to talk about like
30:52I don't even know
30:53like I haven't even thought about what I'm going to say since they're only two years old right
30:57you know
30:58right now
30:59but
31:00um
31:01but
31:03to them, they'll never have something like that happen to them or they'll be taken advantage of.
31:08So it's just horrible and now just being
31:13along again, just thinking about that just makes me even sadder for me that I had to go through.
31:18And so publicly and have people vilify me for it when I was just a 19-year-old.
31:23Yeah, the media were just brutal for you.
31:28The news media, particularly the expert in the documentary said you're targeted because of your integrity.
31:33And I think it's a lot of intelligence to play the game effectively.
31:35We kind of played the game together, similar to Princess Diana.
31:38You were...
31:38You worked with the press at times, welcomed them into your life, posed for the paparazzi.
31:42Do you think...
31:43You paid the price for that by welcoming the media?
31:46I didn't think that was fair at all.
31:48I was always respectful and kind and I knew that people were just trying...
31:53trying to do their job.
31:54So I would always be nice to everyone.
31:57I never...
31:58was one of those celebrities that would, you know, tell them off or...
32:01or go off on them like I've seen.
32:03And some people do.
32:04So I just thought it was really unfair the way that they did that.
32:08I'm going to read some of the headlines from the documentary and just ask you like how...
32:13did they make you feel back then like the idea that this was a description...
32:18of a young woman in her early twenties.
32:20Paris Hilton.
32:21What's the point?
32:22Famous for nothing.
32:23Bimbo...
32:23No Brains.
32:24No Brains.
32:25All Fame.
32:26A new low for celebrity culture.
32:27Like you're...
32:28human just like the rest of us.
32:29How did that feel at the time?
32:31It was really hurt.
32:33You know, I was just a young girl just living my life but I had the whole...
32:38world watching and judging and picking everything apart and just...
32:43I felt like no matter what I did or what I accomplished, people...
32:48just...
32:49refuse to...
32:50I don't know, just see...
32:53see me as like a human being.
32:54It was just like...
32:55a cartoon character or like a punchline.
32:58that they just make fun of.
33:00And...
33:01it just always hurt my feelings because I've always...
33:03been such a sensitive person as well.
33:05And then on top of it...
33:07having...
33:08a PhD...
33:09we...
33:10experience...
33:11emotions...
33:12like 10 times more...
33:13than a neurotypical person...
33:15and...
33:16especially...
33:17there's...
33:18there's something called RSD, which is Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, which...
33:2299...
33:2399% of people with ADHD experience.
33:26So...
33:27to have...
33:28things like...
33:29said like that...
33:30is just...
33:33physically painful.
33:34Like...
33:35it's like...
33:36being stabbed in the heart.
33:37Like...
33:38it's just...
33:38I would cry so much all the time, just like...
33:41constantly hearing things and...
33:43people...
33:44making up lies and stories.
33:45It was just...
33:46a nightmare.
33:47What would you say...
33:48to the people who wrote those headlines now?
33:51Say...
33:52look at me now...
33:53funny...
33:54I've always loved proving people wrong...
33:57so many...
33:58so much of my career...
33:59I've been underestimated...
34:00and misunderstood...
34:01so now...
34:02today...
34:03to see...
34:04my life...
34:05and everything that I've accomplished...
34:06and...
34:07my beautiful...
34:08my beautiful family...
34:09and...
34:10just...
34:11everything that I've done...
34:12and now...
34:13I've had...
34:13so many people come up...
34:14and apologize to me...
34:15so many reporters...
34:16just...
34:18people on the street...
34:19have said that...
34:20if I'm doing an interview...
34:21just so many people have said...
34:22I'm so sorry...
34:23for the way that...
34:24myself and others...
34:25treated you...
34:26because you did not deserve that...
34:27so it feels...
34:28it's very healing...
34:29to hear that from people...
34:30to realize...
34:31that they know it was wrong...
34:32What advice...
34:33would you give...
34:34to the...
34:35to the young girl...
34:36who's going through that now...
34:38my advice would be...
34:41that...
34:43you shouldn't listen...
34:44to people like that...
34:45that...
34:46what matters most...
34:47is what you think...
34:48of yourself...
34:49so don't let that...
34:50outside noise...
34:51affect how you feel...
34:52about yourself...
34:53because...
34:54a lot of people...
34:56can be mean...
34:57especially...
34:58you know...
34:59now with the internet...
35:00and you know...
35:01people are able...
35:02to hide behind a computer...
35:03and...
35:04it's a different...
35:05form of meanness...
35:06now...
35:07it's different...
35:08I feel like the media...
35:09it wasn't like that...
35:08but then there's like...
35:09the internet trolls...
35:10who are just like...
35:11these people...
35:12living in like...
35:13a parent's basement...
35:14like miserable...
35:15with no life...
35:16and like...
35:17just sit on the computer...
35:18all day...
35:18getting rude things...
35:19to people...
35:20like I just would...
35:21tell them like...
35:22I would feel bad...
35:23for this...
35:23these people...
35:24that they...
35:25are that miserable...
35:26that they need to go...
35:27and try to...
35:28tear you down...
35:29and don't let it...
35:30affect you...
35:31In the movie...
35:32I found it really...
35:33interesting...
35:33talking about your ADHD...
35:34and thank you...
35:35I think...
35:36like I believe...
35:37with mental health challenges...
35:38it's so important...
35:38to talk about them...
35:39and normalize them...
35:40and destigmatize them...
35:41and make people...
35:42feel less alone...
35:43and you're...
35:43that you've been...
35:44a leading person...
35:45with ADHD...
35:46to do that...
35:47and the quote...
35:48that really hit me...
35:49from the documentary...
35:48was...
35:49I have all the success...
35:50but I wish...
35:51I could be as happy...
35:52as someone...
35:53without the ADHD...
35:53demon voice...
35:54who had had...
35:55all these things...
35:56still have...
35:57would have had...
35:58all these things...
35:58so...
35:59do you still...
36:00feel like that?
36:01It's...
36:02it's gotten...
36:03much better...
36:04like now...
36:05that I've...
36:06really...
36:07studied...
36:08and researched...
36:08and know...
36:09so much...
36:10about my ADHD...
36:11but...
36:12growing up...
36:13no one was...
36:14talking about it...
36:13especially...
36:14with...
36:15young girls...
36:16so...
36:17I had no idea...
36:18like...
36:18being in school...
36:19and constantly...
36:20getting in trouble...
36:21all the time...
36:22like...
36:23not able to focus...
36:23like...
36:24always in detention...
36:25always failing...
36:26like...
36:27all the tests...
36:28because I couldn't...
36:29remember anything...
36:28or like...
36:29losing my homework...
36:30just like so many things...
36:31would happen...
36:32you know...
36:33people with ADHD...
36:33would just be called...
36:34like...
36:35bad kids...
36:36you know...
36:37one of the reasons...
36:38I got sent away...
36:38to see schools...
36:39is because of it...
36:40because I just...
36:41was not able to...
36:42focus in school...
36:43or anything...
36:43no matter...
36:44how hard I tried...
36:45um...
36:46and then...
36:47now...
36:48knowing...
36:49that...
36:50the voices...
36:51from that...
36:52that are negative...
36:53self...
36:53talk...
36:54are not true...
36:55like...
36:56that is always...
36:57a good thing...
36:58so anytime I do...
36:58have that happening...
36:59I'll just...
37:00immediately say...
37:01that's not you...
37:02that's just your ADHD...
37:03so that's how you manage...
37:03that's really...
37:04I really love sharing...
37:05the solutions...
37:06that's how you...
37:07I talked to...
37:08an amazing doctor...
37:09named Dr. Hallowell...
37:10who was like...
37:11one of the leading...
37:12ADHD psychiatrists...
37:13and...
37:14he has it as well...
37:15and he calls it...
37:16the demon...
37:18it's called...
37:19DMN...
37:20which is like...
37:21the default mode network...
37:22with the real...
37:23termporters...
37:24In the documentary...
37:25you call it the demon voice...
37:26I found it fascinating...
37:27the idea that all of these...
37:28mean things...
37:29are being said...
37:30about you...
37:31and the press...
37:32but it's worse...
37:33in your head...
37:33that you were saying...
37:34worse things about yourself...
37:35Yeah...
37:36so...
37:37that was just...
37:38painful...
37:38and I think...
37:39through doing this documentary...
37:40like...
37:41I feel like...
37:42I never even gave myself...
37:43the credit for...
37:43like...
37:44how much I survived...
37:45even going through that...
37:46like...
37:47after everything...
37:48I'd already went through...
37:49in these schools...
37:50then...
37:51seeing...
37:52the media...
37:53say all these crazy things...
37:54like...
37:55it was just...
37:56it was...
37:56it was just so traumatizing...
37:58back then...
37:59so I'm so...
38:00like...
38:01grateful...
38:02now...
38:03to have healed...
38:04from that...
38:05and now...
38:06I'm able to tell my story...
38:07to others...
38:06because I know...
38:07there's so many...
38:08other...
38:09you know...
38:10kids...
38:11who have ADHD...
38:12who I'm sure...
38:11are going through...
38:12the same thing right now...
38:13and...
38:14just to...
38:15tell them...
38:16and let them know...
38:16that...
38:17this is something...
38:18that we all experience...
38:19and that those things...
38:20are not true...
38:21and...
38:21to be strong...
38:22and to lean on...
38:23in on it...
38:24as your superpower...
38:25because I wouldn't be...
38:26the woman I am today...
38:27without it as well...
38:28I wouldn't be...
38:29the entrepreneur I am...
38:30I wouldn't be...
38:31the creative...
38:31I wouldn't have...
38:32so many different businesses...
38:33without...
38:34the ADHD...
38:35so...
38:36I want...
38:36to inspire others...
38:37that...
38:38this can be...
38:39a superpower...
38:40and you can just...
38:41lean in...
38:42to what you love...
38:43they say that...
38:44we can't focus...
38:45but...
38:46that's not true...
38:47we can...
38:46hyper-focus...
38:47like no other...
38:48we just can't...
38:49focus on things...
38:50that are boring...
38:51but the things...
38:52that light us up...
38:53we will focus...
38:54like a superhero...
38:55that's really interesting...
38:56it's just that...
38:57all of our brains...
38:58have worked differently...
38:59and so...
39:00the fact you're...
39:01talking about it...
39:01realising this...
39:02and showing it's actually...
39:03a positive...
39:04not a negative...
39:05is a great example...
39:06for society...
39:06so thank you...
39:07I've had so many...
39:08families...
39:09kids...
39:10people come up to me...
39:11thank you so much...
39:12for writing your song...
39:13ADHD...
39:14like...
39:15my child...
39:16used to be so...
39:16ashamed of it...
39:17but now...
39:18that's their anthem...
39:19and they're singing it...
39:20every morning...
39:21and telling everyone...
39:21ADHD...
39:22is my superpower...
39:23so I love how...
39:24I'm able to reframe it...
39:25especially for...
39:26these young kids...
39:27growing up with it...
39:28because I know...
39:29that a lot of them...
39:30are struggling...
39:31and back in the noughties...
39:31I felt you couldn't...
39:32admit...
39:33to having any...
39:34any weaknesses...
39:35and now it's different...
39:36opening up with your...
39:37vulnerabilities...
39:38is your superpower...
39:39Yes...
39:40for sure...
39:41Growing up...
39:41in the 2000s...
39:42like...
39:43no one was even...
39:44saying the word...
39:45mental health...
39:46like...
39:47if you heard that...
39:48they'd be like...
39:46like...
39:47mental hospital...
39:48like...
39:49they wouldn't...
39:50understand that...
39:51I'm a big believer...
39:51lot of work in the mental health space that like everybody has got somebody in the family who's
39:54going through something scratch.
39:56The surface I've got people with PTSD, ADHD.
40:01The clinical depression and people don't talk about it and we should encourage it and make people
40:06for less alone so thank you for all of your work.
40:09I think it's amazing seeing this new...
40:11generation and how open they are just how you know we were all taught like...
40:16if anything's wrong don't talk about it just like everything's fine but when you do talk about
40:20things...
40:21it just shows like the power of vulnerability and telling your truth and...
40:26just like letting it out and it just like helps you so much and then it makes others feel...
40:31safe to open up as well and then it starts like this whole domino effect where so many people could heal.
40:36So you are just like us, the relatable things are what matter.
40:41All of my gay friends are totally jealous I'm here with you at your house and until...
40:46I saw this documentary I didn't really realize why you were a gay icon.
40:51And I had tears streaming down my face when you said they are the ones who...
40:56gave me the greatest gift showing me what it truly means to live my truth for so long I was waiting...
41:01down by the shame over what I went through in the troubled teen industry.
41:04I've never heard the straight...
41:06I've never heard the gay person understand the shame that gay people go through living in a world of feeling...
41:11othered and not feeling welcomed and the fact that you could empathize with that.
41:16with what you'd gone through.
41:17I found that really powerful so thank you.
41:20When did you...
41:21when did you realize your similarities with the gay community?
41:24Just especially...
41:26getting out of those schools and then David LaChapelle and I...
41:30we've been very close friends forever and I was one of his muses and he would take me to all the gay clubs.
41:35So I was hanging out with him and Amanda Lepore and Patricia Field and that whole club scene.
41:40and just feeling so much love, so accepted.
41:45just seeing these people who just like live their life out loud, just beautiful...
41:50inside and out and just learned so much from that.
41:55It's just an incredible community in so many ways.
41:58Pride is my favorite time of the year, it's...
42:00so much fun just being on stage, performing, going to all the gay clubs and...
42:05feeling the energy, the love in the room, it's like nothing I can even describe.
42:10It's just so much fun.
42:12Well, thank you for your support.
42:14The way you vocalize...
42:15that connection to the community was so breathtaking.
42:18How have you dealt with that...
42:20shame that you talked about?
42:22I've just felt that a lot of the things that I've...
42:25happened in my life or because other people hurt me and something, another...
42:30message in this film that I want to...
42:32have others know is that...
42:34the shame...
42:35shame should not be on us, it should be on the people who hurt us.
42:39And...
42:40I was actually speaking with one of the survivors who...
42:43went to Provo Canyon School.
42:45told me and she said that to me...
42:47when we were doing my first documentary and that's something that stuck...
42:50with me ever since.
42:51And it's so true.
42:52I feel like so many of the times so many of us have...
42:55held on to shame, which never should have been on us.
42:58It should have always been on that person.
43:00who hurt us.
43:01So I think that's such a powerful message for people to know in their hearts.
43:05because I feel like that would take away a lot of pain from people if they knew that.
43:10motherhood, they say becoming a parent will humble you and make you just like us.
43:15What's one way your kids have humbled you recently?
43:18They're...
43:20they're just my everything, my world.
43:23and...
43:25every day with them just feels like a dream come true.
43:27I've always wanted to be a mom and...
43:30turned out to have these two little angels who are just the cutest little...
43:35fun, like sweet, smart, um...
43:40they're just everything to me.
43:41I'm so, so lucky that I'm their mom.
43:43When was your life...
43:45that latest breakdown into his mummy meltdown moment?
43:49There's...
43:50such good kids.
43:51I know...
43:52I've never had like a meltdown moment.
43:53They're really well behaved.
43:54They're so...
43:55they're so...
43:56like...
43:57just...
43:58smart.
43:59They're so kind.
44:00they're so gentle.
44:01They're on an amazing sleep schedule.
44:03Like they're just like the per...
44:05perfect kids so if when they become teenagers if they turn out to be wild how are you gonna do
44:10with this i i think about that a lot that's that's that scares me
44:15um you're not gonna send them to a provost we know that definitely not
44:20um that's why even with this house like i want to like build like this world
44:25where they never want to sneak out because they'll just always want to invite all their friends here
44:30and this
44:30will be like the house everyone like is that with like movie nights and going in the
44:35pool and the water slide and just like having so much fun where like i feel like they'll never want
44:40to leave
44:40and if they try to sneak out we have the most advanced security
44:45you
44:45security guards cameras lasers everything so
44:50there will be no sneaking out on my watch so you're creating you're creating a
44:55safe environment
44:56so they don't want to leave and if they did they couldn't
45:00anyway um what's something your mum and dad taught you about
45:05life and parenting that you want to pass on to your kids or is there anything you want to do differently
45:10i love that my mom and dad just always made
45:15every holiday especially so special just like my mom
45:20my mom is like the queen of christmas so with all the decorating like all of that i learned from her
45:25so
45:25so
45:27moments just like unforgettable and like just all of the memories and family traditions
45:32moments that i learned from my parents i'm now passing on to my children
45:35and
45:37moments just how important family is and being close with each other
45:41and
45:42and
45:42and
45:43yeah just like the holidays are so special and i love that my mom really
45:47instilled that into me and
45:50how is kathy as a great
45:52grandma how is grandma kathy is she hands-on or does she spoil them rotten
45:56don't call her grandma
45:57she's called kinky and she is
46:02she is
46:02she is
46:02she is
46:03and the best, and the kids love when she comes over.
46:07They love going to her house.
46:08She has, like, a whole, like, children's nursery playroom
46:12at the house.
46:13She has all the coolest toys and everything,
46:16so they're always going over there and playing with her.
46:19And she's very childlike in so many ways as well,
46:21so she's just so sweet with them.
46:23And she's obsessed, especially with London.
46:27She's like, London is, like...
46:28like my twin, because if you look at their baby photos,
46:30they look so similar.
46:32Oh, really?
46:32That's so cute.
46:33But she's an amazing, yeah, she's an amazing grandma.
46:36See, you have 20 boys.
46:38the embryos on ice I read after trying for a girl
46:41for so many times where you keep them.
46:43on ice.
46:45Yeah, so you never know.
46:47So you consider more kids?
46:49I love having two, but you never know,
46:52because they're getting so big, so I...
46:53I love babies so much.
46:56So maybe there'll be another brother one day.
46:58We'll see what happens.
47:00Or if someone in the family needs one,
47:02we have lots of boys.
47:03We talked about this earlier,
47:05about how trolls and social media are difficult,
47:07and there's so much...
47:08mom-shaming on social, like critiquing a baby's physicality.
47:13It's so important.
47:13How do you handle things like that?
47:15What does it bring out on you?
47:17I'm like a protector.
47:18I'm a protective mama bear, so I get very protective, and...
47:23you know, sometimes there is, you know, people online
47:26who want to be mean and negative.
47:28And I just think it's so wrong to talk about a baby in a bad way.
47:33or just like a cruel way, so I am always very protective of it.
47:38But there's been so many moms and others who have been so supportive and...
47:43so amazing, and I love being able to share my life with them, and...
47:48it's always nice to hear from the other moms,
47:50because...
47:52moms are superheroes.
47:53and we can do it all.
47:55Just like us, there's a leveler, and like...
47:58no matter if you've got millions of dollars,
48:00like, you still have to go through the same struggles...
48:03as other parents.
48:04How do you and Carter think about balancing privacy?
48:08we're sharing family moments?
48:09Like, do you ever have any tension about that?
48:11I feel like I've...
48:12I've...
48:13shared so much of my life.
48:17And I love my family.
48:18and I know that they love seeing my family.
48:21So I love to show them.
48:23certain moments or not, like, every single day.
48:25but...
48:26all like the...
48:28special, fun moments that we do together.
48:30it's always fun to share them.
48:31like...
48:32Phoenix.
48:33just like...
48:34always is saying the cutest things.
48:36and...
48:37I don't know.
48:38What was the funny thing he said lately?
48:40He...
48:41just everything.
48:42Like, he just like...
48:43says all of my catchphrases.
48:45Like...
48:46that's hot.
48:47Iconic.
48:48loves it.
48:49It's living.
48:50It's living.
48:51It's living.
48:52He says...
48:53He says...
48:53I love singing that song.
48:54London just learned it.
48:55So she's now saying it.
48:56Iconic is favorite.
48:57There's...
48:58London's favorite word.
48:59And it's our dog's name as well.
49:01I love it.
49:02So...
49:03They're just so...
49:03cute.
49:04I can't...
49:05I'm like obsessed.
49:06I can't take it.
49:07So the whole guy...
49:08the crew back in the day are all mums.
49:11Do you and Kim Kardashian ever bond?
49:13on labor motherhood these days?
49:14We do.
49:15We talk a lot about...
49:17our kids.
49:18how much fun it is to be a mom.
49:20Um...
49:21I met Dr. Wong through her.
49:23who was both of our doctors for our babies.
49:26And...
49:27she's such an...
49:28amazing mom.
49:29Did she give you advice?
49:30She said just to like...
49:31soak up every moment.
49:33It goes so fast.
49:34And they are just growing up so fast.
49:36How often do you two hang out?
49:38Um...
49:39we're both so busy.
49:40So anytime...
49:41like during the holidays or...
49:43if it's like...
49:44an event or something.
49:45But I love her so much.
49:47I'm so proud of her.
49:48Carter seems so supportive of you.
49:50How do you parent together?
49:52We're...
49:53just...
49:54the best parents.
49:55We have so much fun with the kids.
49:58Carter is just so sweet and fun and gentle.
50:01And just an amazing dad.
50:03and...
50:04they love him so much.
50:05And we just have the best time with the kids.
50:07Always.
50:08I agree on all the parenting principles.
50:09I think...
50:10there's not...
50:11not come up things you've disagreed with so far.
50:12No.
50:13You sorted that all out beforehand.
50:14Yeah.
50:15Um...
50:16How does he really feel about your obsession?
50:18with pink and your interior design.
50:20Like the pink tennis court and everything.
50:22He loves it.
50:23He loves anything that will make me happy.
50:25It's like...
50:26really incredible.
50:27That is...
50:28it is an amazing moment.
50:29Because the next question was...
50:30how...
50:31how and when did you know Carter was...
50:33right for you?
50:34But like...
50:35I just knew right away.
50:36There was just something special about it.
50:38and...
50:39I could just tell...
50:40like...
50:41just...
50:42right when he looked at me and smiled.
50:43Like I did...
50:43I could just look in someone's eyes and see...
50:45whether...
50:46like...
50:47they're a good person or not.
50:48and he...
50:49has such incredible family values.
50:51He's so...
50:52kind and...
50:53patient...
50:54and loyal...
50:55and sweet...
50:56and funny...
50:57and loving...
50:58and...
50:58puts me up...
50:59in a way that no one ever has before.
51:00and...
51:01He seems to love you for you.
51:02Yeah.
51:03I just feel like...
51:04so safe with him...
51:05where I feel like...
51:06anything is possible.
51:07and...
51:08that's an amazing feeling.
51:09It's...
51:10it's been so hard...
51:11to trust people...
51:12with every...
51:13everything that's happened in my life.
51:14and...
51:15you know...
51:16I met him at a time where...
51:17I just...
51:18it's like...
51:19I'm not even gonna get married.
51:20I'm not gonna be with anyone.
51:21Like...
51:22I don't need a man.
51:23And...
51:23that's what I was thinking...
51:24and then...
51:25met him.
51:26So...
51:27they always say like...
51:28love will find you...
51:28when you're not looking for it.
51:29and I never believed that either.
51:30but...
51:31I guess it's true...
51:32because it worked with me.
51:33and so...
51:34you've done...
51:35so...
51:36so much...
51:37what...
51:38unfinished business have you got?
51:39What have you still got to prove?
51:40What's next?
51:43I feel like I've...
51:44accomplished like...
51:45everything that I would want to in life...
51:47but I'm...
51:48just gonna continue on...
51:49with everything I'm doing...
51:50with 1111 Media...
51:52and just...
51:53all of the different projects...
51:54I have...
51:55with that...
51:56and...
51:57I'm very excited for...
51:58Para-V...
51:59my skincare line...
52:00that...
52:01I developed...
52:02for the past three years...
52:03and...
52:03building new products...
52:04with that as well...
52:05and...
52:06continuing on...
52:07with the music...
52:08and all my advocacy work...
52:10and...
52:11continuing to build IP...
52:13and then...
52:14getting involved...
52:15more in real estate...
52:16with my own hotels...
52:18and...
52:19yeah...
52:20I just continued...
52:21Paris Hilton Hotels...
52:22rivaling Hilton Hotels...
52:23um...
52:24the skincare line...
52:25you...
52:26are aging backwards...
52:27if you look...
52:28like...
52:29I have a...
52:30LED mask...
52:31like...
52:32just like us...
52:33but you have...
52:33The whole machine, I read.
52:35Yeah, the spa.
52:36The sliving spa.
52:37The sliving spa.
52:38What works the best for readers, for anti-aging?
52:41How can we look as amazing as you?
52:43What works the best is PeraVe, my skincare line, of course.
52:46And then the LED red light.
52:48It's incredible, cryotherapy, hyperbaric chambers.
52:53The number one thing for longevity, which I'm obsessed with.
52:57I just invested in.
52:58And then to Brian Johnson's company as well, Blueprint, which I'm obsessed with.
53:04So I think, yeah, it's important to do all of those things.
53:07Try to stay out of .
53:08The sun, but yeah, that red light really does work.
53:12I have like a whole .
53:13Red light bed, which I'm obsessed with.
53:15And I'm building an entire .
53:18Spa downstairs would be like an 8,000 square foot longevity center and spa.
53:23So we go from an 8,000 longevity spa to testing how just like.
53:28us, because that's not quite just like us.
53:31But now it's time to find out.
53:33Paris Hilton really is.
53:35It's a quick fire round.
53:36Okay.
53:37Questions will come.
53:38fast.
53:39The answers should come faster.
53:40And there's no hiding from your humanity.
53:42Are you ready to prove.
53:43you're just like us.
53:44Yes.
53:45Stars are blind is one of my top five karaoke songs.
53:48But it's really hard to sing.
53:49Are you just like us.
53:50And have you ever sung.
53:51Can you.
53:52Can you.
53:53Like.
53:54Karaoke.
53:55Yeah.
53:56I love karaoke.
53:57What are your songs.
53:58Do you sing.
53:59Stars are blind.
53:58Yes.
53:59Of course.
54:00Stars are blind.
54:01And I love.
54:02Betty Davis eyes by Kim Carr.
54:03One of my faves.
54:03As well.
54:04So iconic.
54:05Classic.
54:06How much help do you have.
54:08around the house.
54:09Yeah.
54:10We have like.
54:11The nannies.
54:12The people help take care of the house.
54:13And.
54:14The handyman.
54:15And.
54:16Yeah.
54:17All of them.
54:18And I love them so much.
54:19They're like part of the family.
54:20What's the most surprisingly normal thing you do every.
54:23day that no one would ever expect from Paris Hilton.
54:26Most normal thing.
54:29Just.
54:30Being with my kids in the morning.
54:31Eating cereal.
54:33Not cereal.
54:34Watching cartoons.
54:35I like frosted flakes.
54:36I love cooking.
54:37I love making.
54:38French toast.
54:39With frosted flakes cooked onto it.
54:41So good.
54:42That's a good.
54:43American breakfast.
54:44She is just like us.
54:45How much do you spend on glam.
54:47A year.
54:48In a year.
54:48Would you estimate.
54:49I don't know.
54:50I've never.
54:51Looked into that.
54:52But I'm sure.
54:53A lot.
54:53What's one house.
54:54Household chore you secretly love doing yourself.
54:58I don't know.
54:59You don't do any.
55:04Organizing.
55:05I like organizing as well.
55:06I like organizing.
55:07I like tidying.
55:08I hate cleaning.
55:09When was the last time you pumped gas?
55:11I used to pump gas when I.
55:13used to drive everywhere.
55:14But.
55:15I honestly never leave the house now.
55:16Like.
55:17Unless I have to.
55:18And then I have a driver.
55:19And then.
55:20I'm always just going directly from here to the airport.
55:23And flying somewhere.
55:24So.
55:25I have not done gas.
55:26In a long time.
55:27But if I.
55:28Was driving.
55:29I would do it.
55:30I don't mind.
55:31You would.
55:32Don't mind.
55:33Okay.
55:34You are just like us.
55:35Well.
55:33Sharing your incredible journey.
55:34And the wisdom.
55:35That you've imparted.
55:36And how you've helped people.
55:37Along.
55:38Along the way.
55:39And I.
55:40I do think.
55:41How vulnerable you are.
55:42It shows that you really are just.
55:43Like us.
55:44So thank you Paris.
55:46This was so much fun.
