00:00Just congratulations into your very first Australian Open semifinal just give us your thoughts on your performance today and how you're able to get the win really happy with my performance today I thought yeah from start to finish there is a lot of momentum swings but I thought I came out playing really well came out serving really well and was able to just hold on there in the second and get that break back and take it into so I think I showed some good mental resilience there
00:29kind of at the end not to get frustrated and then yeah just really happy with everything today
00:35It has ruffled a couple of players in a couple of comments last day or so from Coco and then Iga talking about the cameras at this tournament backstage and how I feel like they have privacy I think Coco didn't realize that she was in a camera area when she broke a racket after losing last night I'm just wondering for you as a player council person who's dealt with these sorts of things like what you think about the issue of player privacy and protection sort of safe spaces for them
00:59versus uh this neat this one the term has for constant content to make kind of like a reality show out of yeah I'm not a fan of the cameras I saw that last night and I was like geez like just the same thing when arena lost the final I was like can you just let the girls have like a moment to themselves and honestly we started working on we were talking about cameras years ago I remember when uh Maddie keys her like number one priority on council was like we have to stop with these cameras like this is crazy
01:27and um I think they ended up putting up signs just to like so people knew there were cameras but this year it feels even even worse I mean I I see like I'll be in the gym and there's video of me like walking into the site I saw people that I didn't even know like was happening in like very areas that you don't think someone's kind of watching you it's in every single hallway and Coco wasn't wrong when she said like the only place is the locker room which is crazy and um
01:57you know you're just kind of going about your day and to feel like someone's constantly filming you I mean I saw online people were like zooming in on players phones and stuff like that like that's so unnecessary
02:06and I just think it's it's really an invasion of privacy I mean we're on the court on tv you come inside you're on tv I mean literally when you the only time you're not being recorded is when you're going to shower and go to the bathroom
02:19and so I think that's something that we need to cut back on for sure um yeah I don't think what Coco did was wrong I don't think what Arena did was wrong it's just people happen to be watching it
02:30and you just feel like you're under a microscope constantly and then people obviously post it online and then you either take it out of context or judge you based on a moment
02:40that shouldn't be a moment it should be a private moment so I really really am not a fan um you know I've had the tournament tell me to take down
02:49certain stuff because they own footage and stuff like that and I'm like are you serious like I post something that has to be taken down but then you can see me on every single hallway that I'm walking in
02:59and and post it online like that's not it's not cool so yeah I think it's I think Coco was right to call it out it's definitely not something new especially on a council perspective
03:09it seems to be worse here than maybe other years so I think now it's going to definitely be talked about and highlighted again uh moving forward
03:18more than other tournaments it seems like it yeah because I remember a few years ago it was a conversation and then um
03:25I think they just they put up signs to kind of notify people but like no one I'm not no one's looking at a sign that doesn't make it better
03:32but yeah it's a little very intrusive
