00:00My name is Klaas and this is Mariette. She's my wife and we are cycling together in Gujarat and we go all the way to the west coast of India.
00:11We started in Ahmedabad some two and a half weeks ago now and in the meantime we cycled about 900 kilometers all the way to the Kuts area to the wild us.
00:24Then we went on to Dwarka where we visited the big temple there and met a lot of pilgrims.
00:35Then along the coast we went to Portbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi.
00:42So that's a very special occasion of course and we visited his birth house in a memorable area.
00:49Then we had a cold because every day we eat a lot of dust here and a lot of polluted air.
01:01That's a pity because that makes our lungs a bit irritated.
01:06But okay, we continued to Junagat and we celebrated Revolution Day and yesterday here in Junagat.
01:15And we climbed 10,000 steps, well almost, we came to 7,000 steps on the Gamian mountain.
01:23We saw the temples, we saw lots of pilgrims and there were a huge amount of people.
01:29So we couldn't go the last few steps because there were too many people.
01:34But it was very, very, very interesting. We had a very good time there.
01:37Now today we go back to the coast.
01:42We want to go to the reserve, Agir. Maybe we see some lions there, you never know.
01:48And we spent the night there in Satagir and tomorrow we want to continue to dew.
01:55And then, okay, then further down we don't have exact plans but we want to go all the way south.
02:01Finally to Trivandrum and then back up to Chennai.
02:05We love India. It's my third time in India. The first time was in 1986 and a lot of things have changed in the meantime.
02:14In those days I remember there were bicycle ricksters and that was, well, I found it a very good system because they are not polluting.
02:24The current tuk-tuks and the motorbikes, they make a lot of smoke and bad air and that's not so good.
02:34Not for me but also not for the people of India, I guess, because they have to breathe this every day.
02:40And on the other hand when you look around you see a lot of plastic, plastic, plastic and that's a disaster, I guess.
02:47All our bodies are full of plastic nowadays and I think India is such a very, very, very big country and if they can do something about it,
02:57then that would be a good example for the world.
03:02Because if they can do it, if India can make a change, I think they have a very, very big impact on the world.
03:09So I think they should start doing this, not tomorrow but today, please.
03:17For the rest, we have a great time in India because the people are lovely.
03:22We are invited in many, many places.
03:25People offer chai and sometimes breakfast and many times we stop on the road and they ask us where we come from
03:34and they want to make selfies with us, so we have a great time, it's very interesting.
03:39And well, thanks India, we love you. Thank you.
