00:09safety for jet skiers. Police fined 94 jet ski riders and boaties since December 2025.
00:16Three people were fined for speeding within 50 metres of swimmers. Riders were also seen
00:24operating too close to shore, speeding in restricted zones close to swimmers and riding
00:30unlicensed or unsupervised. A number of people assumed they could ride a jet ski given they
00:37had a boat licence. Police have stated that this is not the case and anyone who wants to
00:43ride a jet ski needs the correct personal watercraft endorsement. Water and beach safety operations
00:51will continue until the end of March.
