00:00So I think we're all going to try to assess over the long haul, why did this work?
00:04Why is Mike Vrabel so good? Blah, blah, blah.
00:06And it's kind of struck me that I really think the root of it all, there's a million layers to it,
00:11personnel moves, people around him, all of that delegating.
00:15But I think it's all rooted in Vrabel's genuine comfort level in his own skin.
00:21We've talked about his confidence, but we need to talk about he's just so genuine and natural,
00:27whether it's grabbing a Miller Lite because somebody handed it to me and I'm going to drink it
00:31and then crush it in front of my boys, that successfully resonates.
00:35Whether it's clarifying the appendage that he would cut off or cut in half on the Greg Hill show
00:40to win a Super Bowl, those interviews, joking with the media, even last week talking about
00:46someone brought up, are you going to tell your players to put their phones down,
00:49stay away from their phones as you lead up to these big games?
00:51And he's like, yeah, like that'll work. I live in the real world. I have kids.
00:54I know how the world works. He's just so comfortable being honest with his leadership qualities
01:00that it is so refreshing. And I think it resonates with the modern athlete, the modern sports fan,
01:07hell, the modern human being. There's too much BS in the world. He's no BS.
01:12He's simple. He's comfortable. He's confident in his own skin.
01:14And I think that is at the root of his success.
01:16I think you're absolutely right. And I'm going to tell you this.
01:19You know what players can't stand in a coach, just can't stand, is a guy that's not true to himself.
01:28If you sniff out a leader, a manager, somebody that you work under,
01:35if you feel like there's a disingenuineness to them or just they're not authentic
01:40or they're not really being who you think they are, then that you lose respect
01:46and you don't listen and you don't respect that person.
01:49So Mike is 100% who he is. What he reveals himself to be is really who he is.
01:54And that authenticity resonates with players, Fitzy. It really does.
