00:00President Trump had some tough talk for one of his Democratic rivals, California Governor
00:05Gavin Newsom. In an exclusive Oval Office interview with our West Coast brethren at
00:10the California Post, the president said he's stunned that Newsom is considering running for
00:15president, adding, quote, Gavin's incompetent. Well, these two certainly aren't going to become
00:21besties anytime soon. Newsom has been fighting social media fire with fire,
00:25ripping off the president's brash online style to try and raise his own national profile.
00:30And it seems to be working, at least for now. In real clear politics polling averages for the
00:352028 Democratic nomination, Newsom is at the very top of the list. Now, as we know, it is barely
00:412026. So this early on, that's almost surely based on name recognition and not a lot else.
00:47And President Trump predicted that Newsom's record in California will haunt him on the eventual
00:51campaign trail, citing his $135 billion boondoggle, a high speed rail line that's supposed to connect
00:59LA and San Francisco. But it really hasn't moved much past the planning stages, if that. Now of
01:05their relationship, President Trump said, quote, I used to get along with him, but now it's sort
01:10of a hopeless situation. They've gone radical left. They're crazy. Like I said, the president had some
01:16tough talk.
