00:00Perikatan Nasional has yet to decide on the formation of an Executive Council and proposed amendments related to the powers of its Presidential Council, according to a report.
00:10Utusan Malaysia quoted a source as saying the matter was agreed on in principle during a meeting between Past President Abdul Hadi Awang and Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin on January 16.
00:21The source said Bersatu was to prepare a draft of the proposed amendments to PN's constitution for past discussion and approval,
00:29but PN Deputy Secretary General Takiyudin Hassan later called a PN Supreme Council meeting, which allegedly breached the coalition's constitution and did not invite Muhyiddin.
00:40The source added that MIPP was initially not invited, raising questions over Takiyudin's motives despite an understanding between the presidents of PN's two main component parties.
00:51Takiyudin, the past Secretary General, confirmed that Muhyiddin was not invited to the Supreme Council meeting as he was no longer a member after stepping down as PN chairman on December 30 following the Perlis political crisis.
01:05He also said that his party had no issue backing Muhyiddin's appointment as chairman of PN's Presidential Council.
01:11Malaysia Kini previously reported that PN and Bersatu had reached an agreement for Muhyiddin to assume the top post in the Presidential Council.
