00:00A 31-year-old man was arrested in Sydney during a March for Australia rally on January 26,
00:092026, charged with alleged hate speech. The man launched into an anti-Semitic rant when
00:16given a microphone at the anti-immigration rally in Moorpark. Australian community media
00:22has chosen not to broadcast his words at this time.
00:25We've arrested a 31-year-old male from Peacurst who engaged in what we will allege is a hate speech
00:32during an open mic session at Moorpark. We will allege that the language he used, his presence,
00:39was clearly and unequivocally assigned with neo-Nazi ideology and his presence and language
00:48incited response from the crowd, generating hate towards a particular group in our community.
00:54Police also evicted another attendee after they were identified as a member of a neo-Nazi group.
01:01Some attendees were seen wearing neo-Nazi symbols, while others carried signs calling for jailed
01:07neo-Nazi leader Joel Davis to be freed.
01:12March for Australia rallies took place across most major cities, as Invasion Day gatherings
01:17also took place nearby. In Melbourne, police are investigating an alleged racial abuse incident,
01:24where a man allegedly performed a Nazi salute during the rally. In Brisbane, March for Australia
01:31rallies were attended by high-profile politicians, including One Nation's Pauline Hanson, Ralph
01:37Babette and Malcolm Roberts. Meanwhile, at an Invasion Day demonstration in Brisbane,
01:42a man identified as Indigenous elder Majidji was filmed raising the Australian flag before setting it alight.
01:51The act has been met with widespread condemnation. Just a week earlier in Parliament,
01:56Labor shot down a coalition proposal to amend laws that would mean flag burning could be prosecuted
02:02under federal law.
