00:00At approximately 7.45 p.m. last night, there was an accident involving a single GA aircraft that was departing from Bangor International Airport.
00:10The aircraft was a Bombardier CL-600.
00:14Emergency protocols were immediately activated and first responders were on scene in under a minute.
00:20In addition to the Main Air National Guard initial response with their fire and rescue vehicles, the Bangor Fire Department and approximately 10 other municipalities responded to the scene.
00:33An emergency operations center was established to oversee response and remains active.
00:41The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified and are responding to Bangor International Airport, and we expect them to arrive later on today.
00:53The airport remains closed, and additional updates will be provided as soon as they are available when we can share additional details to the public.
01:01We appreciate your understanding and patience regarding the incident and ask that you continue to respect the privacy of those involved in this incident.
01:12Once the FAA and the NTSB are on site, we will work together with them to provide additional information as soon as that becomes available.
01:20Snow removal operations were in progress, and again, there were planes landing and departing around that time of the incident.
01:29Does the fact that it was a private plane impact that at all? Like, would a commercial flight not have taken off last night?
01:35There were commercial planes landing and departing around that time.
01:39Was there a request to de-ice the plane at all?
01:43There were de-icing operations occurring at that time.
01:47Our first responders obviously responded to the incident.
01:51They addressed the situation that is on the field, and at this time, we are securing and monitoring the scene.
02:00And did weather impact any operations at all last night, whether the cold or the snow?
02:05Well, as you are all aware, there was a major storm that was making its way across the vicinity and across the country,
02:12so the weather was a factor in many operations, and I think that even before the accident, there were a significant amount of cancellations.
02:22of course, there was a lot of uncertainty that we were looking at, and that we cannot make it for some sort of a chance.
02:30Of course, we had to let this fall and see how we can.
02:31So we are doing what we are doing today.
02:35It seems that we are doing the business of the road.
02:38We are doing the business of the road, but we don't really work with one of the things that we can do today.
02:41So we are going to do the business of the road, we are doing the business of the road.
02:47So it seems that we are doing something about the road, but the road.
