00:09Let's welcome Minister of the Economy, SME's energy and tourism,
00:15Charles-Elvain Guillaume.
00:30France.
00:33For economic affairs and energy, Katarina.
00:47And I, please.
00:51And now we want to...
00:54Thank you and thank you so much, Minister, for hosting us here.
02:17zu Russland.
02:21No more will we let you weaponize energy against us.
02:26No more will we let you blackmail member states of the European Union.
02:33And no more will we help indirectly fund the war in Ukraine.
02:39We've decided to finally end our imports of Russian energy.
02:45Well it's always important to be diplomatic in my view.
02:52We obviously don't agree with President Trump on that.
02:57For us in the UK offshore wind is absolutely critical for our energy security.
03:03This is a hard headed not a soft hearted view that we have.
03:09We think it's the right thing for the climate crisis but we think it's absolutely the right
03:13thing for energy security.
03:16I think offshore wind is for winners.
03:17I think offshore wind is going to connect 12 million homes in the UK just with our recent
03:24auction getting us off the roller coaster of fossil fuels.
03:31And different countries will pursue their own national interests.
03:34But we are very clear about where our national interest lies.
03:38I guess in Deutschland tankwit overdehmen konnte.
03:42Muss man nicht künftig eindrehen.
03:44But we do need LNG from America as it is now.
03:51The US is now our second biggest contributor of gas having replaced Russia.
03:58Now we are not against trading with the US on the contrary.
04:03We have never wanted a trade war.
04:05We want to trade and deal with the US on as many issues as possible.
04:12But we are of course aware, and this goes for all countries, not only the US, that we
04:16are not aiming at replacing one dependency with a new dependency.
04:21We want to grow our own energy.
04:24And our strategy in the future is to become free of gas.
04:54But again it's the cultivation of gas in the future.
