00:00The Holy Spirit
00:06I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ,
00:14His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the
00:21Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended
00:28into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right
00:35hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
00:42the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
00:49body, and the life everlasting. Amen. In Part 1 of this series, we believe.
00:55God the Father, we learned that the Apostles' Creed dates to the early church, and in Part 2,
01:01we learned all that Jesus has done for us to take on the punishment for our sin and restore a perfect
01:07relationship with God for us. In this third week of studying the Apostles' Creed, we will lean into
01:14the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and how our lives change because of what we learned
01:20about Jesus last week. The truths about God the Father and Jesus the Son should change everything.
01:27But sometimes we need reminders and help along the way. Enter the Holy Spirit. His role is to help us
01:34along the journey while we wait for Jesus to come again to judge the living and the dead. He is referred
01:41to as the helper, comforter, and guide. He is within each person who believes in Jesus.
01:48He affirms the saving work of Jesus in our lives by reminding us of the inheritance we have in heaven
01:53while also helping us to become more like Jesus here on earth by producing the fruit of the Spirit
01:59from Galatians 5 verse 22 to 23. When we know who the Holy Spirit is and what He can do in us,
02:07we can more easily yield to Him working in and through us. He works through us to help us share
02:14the greatness of God with those who don't know it yet. We don't have to be afraid to share because
02:19the Holy Spirit reminds us of the secure relationship we have with God through Jesus. The Holy Spirit is
02:26God confirming the work He has already done and making sure that the good news of salvation gets
02:32spread throughout the world. Pause to pray. Holy Spirit, thank you for living in me. Remind me of
02:40all the things that Jesus has done for me and how it changed my life. Give me the courage to share
02:46with others around me. Amen.
