00:00Why not discuss at least the hottest week in the hot stove over the last 10 days or so?
00:04Finally, everybody signed. Kyle Tucker signed. Bo Bichette signed. We got some trades. We got
00:08some stuff here going into February. Sort of weird that it took this long, but here we are.
00:13Let's go over the latest here. We had a trade, and then we'll go over a couple signings here.
00:19First trade of most recent history here, going back 24, 48 hours, Mackenzie Gore,
00:25who was a really good starter for Washington, especially great start at the beginning of last
00:29year, got traded to the Texas Rangers. The Rangers, George, extremely quiet this offseason,
00:34not doing a heck of a lot. They did hire a new manager in Skip Schumacher, but beyond that,
00:39I don't know. You tell me. Brandon Nimmo, is there anything else significant they did? I don't know.
00:43So now Gore becomes Texas' third starter or maybe their second starter, and certainly Washington,
00:50unfortunately, sad to say, after going through two, three years of rebuild, George, it feels like
00:55they're pushing a little bit further down the rebuild tunnel here. I don't think we're going
00:59to see them good in a while. It's a little disappointing, you know, when teams like Washington
01:05trade top players, Milwaukee, because they don't want to pay the guy, right? And I understand this
01:09is more of a Milwaukee thing, because Peralta is a free agent at the end of the year. Gore still
01:13has a couple years control of, but it's a little disappointing. All right. So, well, listen,
01:17we look at it from Texas aside. No, you're right. They really hadn't done anything other than Nemo trade.
01:21They're one of those teams that was stuck, I think, in the TV hell with the, whatever's going to go on,
01:25those works. So they have some issues there. You want to talk about that?
01:31No, no, I do not. I mean, probably not the story for me to talk about. Having being involved,
01:38I'm right in the middle of all this stuff. Hopefully in a week or two, I'll have good
01:41news for all of you. But for right now, I get it, George. By the way, let me be clear on that,
01:45just so we understand here. The Nationals, as you said, yes, in the TV stuff, yes. They're one of
01:53those teams that left Masson and they're going over to MLB Productions. The Texas Rangers have
01:57their own broadcast network. They decided not to go to the MLB Productions and they're doing their
02:02own thing. They're still broadcasting. So didn't mean to cut you off there, but certainly understand
02:08exactly what some of these teams are going through. And may I add, for some of these teams,
02:11like Washington and some of the others, and we don't know what's going to happen yet with this,
02:16has to be considered a factor for how these teams operate. This is too much money, George,
02:20to lose and not expect there to be some sort of financial ramifications from it. My opinion only.
02:27Oh, I agree. Absolutely agree with you. But on the field, you know, DeGrom, Eovaldi, Gore,
02:36I mean, your fourth starter's lighter than, I remember Jacob Blatz, right? He was good at the
02:40end of last year for them. So we'll see how that works out for them. This could be an interesting team
02:45in the American League West, by the way. Listen, can these guys stay healthy? I don't know. DeGrom,
02:49I don't see it happening again, Craig. I don't. Same thing with Eovaldi here. But I like what
02:53they've done here for Washington. You said it. It's a rebuild. The trade, you better help that
02:57fine guy. That's his name, right? Fine Fane. Yeah. He better be good, because if he's not,
03:01they're going to get crushed in this deal. But he has to be that guy from Washington to win this
03:05deal. We'll find out in a couple of years. I mean, I mean, the Soto deal was incredible.
03:08Just Washington didn't get anything else since then. And even as of now, that's just all they have
03:13are those players.
