00:00Houston now has a four-and-a-half game lead over Seattle in the west of the American League.
00:05So they've opened up a bit there.
00:07And as far as the wild card goes, you brought this up before,
00:09Tampa has the first wild card, Toronto the second, Seattle the third,
00:15Cleveland's one-and-a-half back, Boston and Anaheim two-and-a-half,
00:19Texas three, Kansas City three-and-a-half.
00:22Baltimore is as far as I went.
00:24They're seven-and-a-half out of the wild card.
00:26Yeah, it seems like all those teams have a shot at some level in the second half,
00:34which is good for the chase the rest of the way.
00:37I mean, if you're one-and-a-half back or two-and-a-half or three-and-a-half,
00:42even four-and-a-half back, to me that's nothing.
00:45Look at the ground that teams have made up, like even on the Yankees we talked about.
00:51They had this huge lead, and it's gone.
00:53It's down to one game.
00:54So all you have to do is have a bad stretch for about two weeks, and you're screwed.
01:01Yeah, and like you said on the flip side, if you have a really hot stretch for two or three weeks,
01:07you suddenly, like Toronto and Tampa did, you fly right back up to the top of it.
01:12So very jumbled in the AL.
01:14Philly now has a one-and-a-half game lead on the Mets in the National League East.
01:18The Braves are nine-and-a-half back now, despite they've won seven out of ten, but they're still nine-and-a-half behind.
01:27The Central has gotten a little closer.
01:30Look at this.
01:30We thought the Cubs might run away and hide, but Milwaukee's now just two-and-a-half, and the Cardinals four-and-a-half.
01:37Actually, they're both two-and-a-half, Milwaukee and the Cardinals.
01:39And the Reds are only four-and-a-half, so that's pretty tight now.
01:43Yeah, without a doubt, and the Brewers will be two if they can finish off the Pirates.
01:48They're up 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs and nobody on.
01:54So the Pirates have cut the four-zip lead in half, but the Brewers have been playing great baseball, scoring tons of runs.
02:01Cardinals, same thing.
02:02They've been abusing the Cubs the last couple of nights at Busch Beer.
02:07As far as the West goes, the Dodgers and the Giants were close for a little while, but the Dodgers have opened up a little bit.
02:15Four-and-a-half, they now lead the Giants by five-and-a-half San Diego, seven-and-a-half for Arizona.
02:21And as far as the wild card in the NL, Mets at the top, then the Giants, then Milwaukee and St. Louis both have the same record.
02:30Of course, that's going into the day.
02:31As you mentioned, Milwaukee's getting close to getting themselves another victory.
02:35San Diego's a half, Cincinnati's two, Arizona's two-and-a-half, and then the Braves are six behind that.
02:42But that is entirely in the AL.
02:44I honestly don't think the Braves are out of it with Acuna.
02:49And if they get everybody going, Olsen, Riley, they got all these guys that can play flat out.
02:56And, you know, I think what really hurt them was the sale injury.
03:00I think that kind of knocked a couple of teeth out of their mouth.
03:03So they have to survive that.
03:06And if he starts getting injured again the rest of the way, you know, he reminds me of, you know, like, for sakes of, you know, look at DeGrom.
03:16Like, that guy had so many injuries.
03:19Now he's healthy, right, and pitching great.
03:21Scherzer was one of those guys that you could count on being injured every year and missing all kinds of time.
03:27And that's been the case the last several years.
03:30Now he's back tonight, and I don't think that'll last either.
03:34But I think that Sale has had those same problems.
03:38He's pitched great.
03:40He won the Cy Young, but here he is injured again.
03:42He's pitched great.
