00:05including this American right here speaking to you. Winter storm Fern is on the way to sow some
00:11major chaos. Fern, that's what the people who name storms are calling her or it. Anyway,
00:18every state from Texas to Maine could see some sort of impact. Here in New York,
00:22the forecast is still a little up in the air, but we could see the biggest snow event in five years
00:28if the high end of the snow range 16 inches comes to fruition. One local weather expert says the
00:34Hudson Valley, which is just north of the city, could get walloped by up to two feet of snow.
00:38That's the most in 30 years. So if you're out of practice and you don't feel like arm wrestling
00:43your neighbor at the grocery store for the last gallon of milk, here's what experts told the
00:47post about how best to prepare. And let me preface this with, I know it's cold out right now, but now
00:52is not the time to rely on Amazon getting deliveries to your home. You are going to need to hit the
00:57pavement. First, a portable power station. If you're a city dweller like me and a big gas powered
01:03one just isn't feasible, you can grab one that will charge all of your stuff with solar power.
01:08Now, if you like your neighbors, this is going to make you insanely popular with them during a storm.
01:13And if you grab one, make sure you pick up a power strip too, so that you can plug in multiple
01:17devices. Now, if your power is out and you're resorting to a generator, you may also want to grab
01:22an electric ceramic heater is going to be cold. Might I also recommend one with a remote so that
01:28you do not have to get out from under the mountain of blankets you will no doubt be borrowed under.
01:33And finally, if you want to go all old school, pick up a pack of tea candles. Once the sun goes down
01:38and you're watching the last episode of Heated Rivalry on your phone and your battery is at 3%,
01:42the candles will help you light up your digs until that solar generator can get recharged the next
01:47morning. Plus, it totally sets a vibe.
