00:00Muslim leaders here in Lakemba say they're disturbed by a letter sent to the local mosque
00:06inciting violence against multicultural groups on Australia Day.
00:10The letter was addressed to the Imam of the mosque and has now been referred to police.
00:14Leaders here say it's not the first time the mosque has received anonymous threats of violence
00:19against some Middle Eastern communities,
00:21but that the timing just days before Australia Day is concerning.
00:25Police say they're working to find those responsible for the letter.
00:29The content is absolutely abhorrent.
00:31The information that's suggesting there's inciting to kill any human being,
00:35regardless of where they originate from,
00:37is something that is, in my view, a criminal investigation that is started.
00:41The Federal Government has described a letter as disgraceful,
00:44saying it takes these threats extremely seriously,
00:47and Premier Chris Minns has also condemned the note.
00:50Together we need to have big bright red lines that if you encourage vilification or violence
00:56against a stranger, someone you've never met before,
00:58we're going to throw the book at you.
01:00There'll be 1,500 police officers out in force during Australia Day.
01:04And while police say they'll provide a safe environment for anyone planning to attend an invasion day
01:10or anti-immigration protests as part of Australia Day,
01:13police are also warning that there'll be zero tolerance for violence or anti-social behaviour.
01:19That's a waste of daily life.
01:20Help us요.
01:21If we help you to suffer the death of one,
01:22I'll be scared of them.
01:23We're scared of them.
01:24If you don't need to have enough value,
01:25we're scared of them and you're scared of them,
01:26you're scared of them and you're scared of them.
01:28We're scared of them.
01:29We're scared of them.
01:30You're scared of them.
