00:00Sydney's protest bans have been scaled back, clearing the way for Australia Day marches to go ahead.
00:07While police extended broader restrictions on Sydney protests for another fortnight,
00:13several key areas have now been excluded from the ban.
00:16It's about getting the balance right between community safety and a right to protest.

00:25following the public safety concerns raised after the Bondi terror attack.
00:30New South Wales Police authorised the annual Sydney Invasion Day protest from Hyde Park to Victoria Park
