00:30And right now, no, ang mas exciting dyan na makausap natin sila Phil Spada President or Paralympic Committee President Michael Beredo live mismo dyan sa Tayland.
Kasi the last time ng Southeast Asian Games, prior to the Southeast Asian Games, maulan.
01:09Oo.
01:09Pero during the game, umayos.
01:18Good morning, Sir Michael.
01:19Good morning, po.
01:25Alam mo, partner favorite ko sa Tayland talaga.
01:28Pagpumapasay kami doon yung po.
01:29Ayan na.
01:29Ayan.
01:30Sir Michael, good morning.
01:31Hello.
01:37Hello, Sir Michael.
01:39Can you hear me?
01:41Yes, Sir Michael.
01:42Are you loud and clear?
01:45Sir Michael, are we loud and clear?
01:49You sound like you're so far away.
01:55Oh, okay.
01:57He barely can hear us.
02:02You're better now. You're closer.
02:04Ayan.
02:06Sir Michael, very light question.
02:09How is the weather there in Thailand so far?
02:15Okay.
02:16Please, can you repeat that, please?
02:18We just want to know, how is the weather there in Thailand so far?
02:25Well, right now, the Philippine contingent is at fourth place in the medal standings.
02:31And we have a total of 15 gold, 15 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
02:39Sir, as the president of Philippine Paralympic Committee, what is, do you think, the hardest part of your role now that the para-athletes are there in Thailand and the competition is in full swing?
02:57Well, I'm sorry. I did catch your question very well.
03:04But anyway, what I can say is that we have the biggest contingent this time around at 212 foot because we have included sitting volleyball, CP football, wheelchair basketball, men and women, gold ball, men and women now.
03:20And that is why our contingent is bigger.
03:22But the gold medals are coming in from athletics, from para-athletics, para-swimming.
03:29We have in fencing, we have gold medals coming in, and I'm sure we will have a big medal haul coming in from our para-chest team by this evening.
03:40So we're doing fourth in the middle tally. We're striving to better our standings compared to Cambodia two years ago, and sana magawa namin ito.
03:54But nevertheless, what's important here, ang ating mga atleta ay doing well, they're doing their best, they're performing very well.
04:04There are some Asian-ASEAN records broken, and of course, we've challenged them to go for the gold, to have a killer's instinct, a winning attitude, and sana, sana it works out that we were able to bring honor and glory for the country, so our countrymen.
04:19Maraming salamat siyempre sa Philippine Sports Commission, sa ating mga private corporations na tumutulong, and individuals, sa ating MPP Foundation, and I hope that mas marami pang tutulong at susuporta sa ating para-sports sa Philippine Paralympic Movement.
04:40At siyempre sa inyo sa media, maraming salamat. Alam ko ang nagkaroon tayo ng technical difficulty, but maybe one of these days, maka-Zoom at magpag-usapan natin ito mas mahaba.
04:54Sir Michael, last Asian-Para Games, we ended at the fifth place. Now po ba, confident po tayo na mas mauungusan natin ang ating medal haul last edition?
05:07Well, I don't know about the medal haul, but yung standing is something we're targeting, no?
05:13Kakapon na sa third place tayo, we dropped down by two, we're short of two medals with Malaysia.
05:19In terms of the medal haul, alam mo, Thailand is full force, ha?
05:24Sa totoo lang, lahat ng events yata, sinaluhan nila nang hindi lang, sinalihan nila, not just with one, not just with two, but three athletes at a time.
05:32So, they're raking it all in, but of course, Indonesia is another powerhouse, nang jet din sila.
05:38So, we will do our best to better our fifth place finish, a good fourth, or who knows, we might even do third.
05:46But these are gonna be very challenging, but kay Papano, we will do our best to make sure that we can make our country proud, no?
05:59Sir Michael, how did the Philippine delegation prepare for these 13th ASEAN Paragames?
06:05Well, of course, usual, we have, of course, a national training pool that's in the area of about 200, combined, well, in about 15 or 14 sports.
06:18And then, nagkaroon tayo ng mga bata, no?
06:21Our youth, that they came from the, of course, the Palarong Pambansa,
06:25and then, and then competed in the Asian Youth Paragames in Dubai just about a week, a month ago, early, sometime in December.
06:34So, nagkakaroon tayo ng magandang programa, and judging from the chairman,
06:38patos Patrick Grigoya's statement that we might be included,
06:44or will be included in the Batang Pinoy and the Palarong Pambansa,
06:47and that is very important, because then that will expand our pool of athletes,
06:53not only in the training pool, but as well as in the youth training pool.
06:57So, malaking bagay to, and I hope that this will continue.
07:01We'd like to thank the Philippine government, really,
07:03through the support of our president, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,
07:09and his wife, the first lady, Liz Araneto,
07:11who are very much supportive of our endeavors.
07:24who is our commissioner in charge for Parasports,
07:33at I hope our group in the media,
07:37lalo kayo sa PTV4, Sports Radio, and others,
07:41will continue helping bring awareness to the rest of the Philippines country
07:45na meron tayong Parasports at kailangan natin yung suporta ng lahat.
07:51On that note, maraming maraming salamat po,
08:00Yes, maraming pa tayong questions na nakahanda for Sir Michael Barredo,
