Which European countries will heatwaves hit hardest by 2100?

As heatwave records are broken each year in Europe, countries across the continent are being hit particularly hard by climate change. However, Mediterranean countries aren't topping the list as expected.

00:37The study analyzed climate modeling data, heatwave frequency and average
00:41versus maximum temperatures across European countries.
00:45France ranks as Europe's most heatwave vulnerable country,
00:48with five heatwave events annually and 115 cumulative days of extreme heat.
00:54France will experience average temperatures of up to 37 degrees by 2100,
00:59with nearly four months per year, possibly being spent in heatwave conditions.
01:04Eastern Europe emerges as an expected upcoming heatwave hotspot,
01:08with Romania in third place, Moldova in fourth place and Bulgaria in fifth place,
01:14ranking ahead of Mediterranean countries.
01:16Romania and Moldova will face three heatwaves per year, lasting 17 cumulative days each,
01:23while Bulgaria will experience two annual heatwaves at 14 cumulative days.
