The tree surgery has been roasted by experts.
Transcript
00:00A Toby Carvery restaurant may be evicted from its North London site after partially felling an oak tree thought to be up to 500 years old.
00:11The stump of the oak tree, surrounded by fallen branches, was discovered by council workers last April in Whitewebs Park, Enfield.
00:19Enfield Council went as far as pushing the police to consider it an act of criminal damage after residents said they were devastated by the severed tree.
00:27Russell Miller, an ecology expert, said the tree could have lived another 100 years and described the felling as the worst example he has ever seen of inappropriate tree surgery.
