Donald Trump said the US was "annihilating terrorists who are killing Christians" in Nigeria at the official signing ceremony for his Board of Peace at the World Economic Forum in Davos, on Thursday.

"We've hit them very hard, they've killed thousands and thousands of Christians. What's that all about?" he asked.

Trump conducted strikes on what he said were IS militants in Nigeria in December. The Nigerian government has condemned his rhetoric, saying armed groups are attacking both Muslims and Christians indiscriminately.
