U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Nigeria, accusing terrorist groups of systematically targeting and killing Christian communities. Speaking during his Davos address, Trump said thousands of Christians have been murdered and claimed his administration took decisive military action against extremist groups responsible for the violence.

Trump framed the campaign as part of a broader global security effort, linking terrorism in Africa to wider instability across the Middle East and Europe. His remarks come amid growing international concern over religious persecution, insurgency, and mass displacement in Nigeria’s northern regions.

The comments have reignited debate over Western military involvement in Africa, counter-terrorism strategy, and the protection of persecuted religious minorities.

00:00We took out ISIS, and we had – it was gone, but during the Biden administration,
00:06it formed again a little bit. We hit it very hard in Syria.
00:10And Syria, by the way, spoke with the president, is making a lot of progress,
00:14tremendous progress, actually. We're very happy about that.
00:17We took off all sanctions, which gives them a chance to breathe.
00:21And he is working very, very hard, and I think he's going to put it all together.
00:27So many things are happening, many good things.
00:33Threats to Europe and America, the Middle East, and other places are really calming down.
00:41It's a lot different than it was just one year ago.
00:44Just one year ago, the world was actually on fire. A lot of people didn't know it.
00:49And in Nigeria, we're annihilating terrorists who are killing Christians.
00:53We've hit them very hard.
00:55They've killed thousands and thousands of Christians. What's that all about?
01:01Much of this unprecedented success is possible because I rebuilt our military in my first term,
01:07and now we're making it even stronger.
01:09We have a budget of over a trillion dollars this year, and next year we're going to 1.5 trillion.
01:16Our country's never done better economically. We're taking in numbers that we've never taken in,
01:23not only the fact that the investment is at 18 trillion plus, but our jobs numbers.
01:30Everything is, I think, maybe better than ever before.
01:34I think you're going to see some – and a lot of you are investing in our country.
01:37I think you're going to be extremely happy with your investments.
01:40I think you'll see numbers like you haven't seen before.
01:43I also secured commitments from virtually all NATO allies to increase their defense spending to 5 percent of GDP.
01:52Everybody but Spain – I don't know what's happening with Spain.
01:54Why would they not do that?
01:56They want a free ride, I guess.
01:58Huh?
01:58Every country but Spain increased to 5 percent.
02:02I don't know why.
02:03We're going to have to talk to Spain.
02:06With America's renewed attention to security of the Western Hemisphere,
02:10I've stopped the invasion on our southern border and designated the drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
02:18And you probably saw that we've stopped – virtually stopped almost 100 percent all drugs coming in by water,
02:25and now we're going to stop them on land.
02:26The land is easy.
02:27The water is tough, but that's down now.
02:31I said – I heard it just last night.
02:34It was 97.
02:35Now it's 98.1 percent, and we're trying to figure out who are the 2 percent that are willing to get into those boats.
02:42I don't think they watch television or the news.
02:46But we've taken out almost 100 percent of all of the drugs coming into the United States by water,
02:52and now we'll, I think, very easily stop them on land.
02:55That's the easy part.
02:56We wanted to wait until the other was taken care of.
02:59And earlier this month, thanks to the unrivaled skill, power, and might of the U.S. military,
03:05we have the most powerful military in the world by far.
03:08We captured the outlaw dictator, Nicolas Maduro, and the people of Venezuela are very happy about it.
03:15And we're having great relationships with the leaders of – the new leaders of Venezuela.
03:32That was a great question.
03:36We had an experience of why it was like a belief on how to put a goal.
03:37We set it in the world and of the – why there's which co-ed effort release of the—
