China denies claims of arctic ambitions

China’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed accusations of its arctic ambitions as groundless, after NATO said talks with the U.S. over Greenland is aimed at preventing Russia and China from gaining a foothold.  Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China opposes “fabricating things out of thin air” and using Beijing as a pretext to pursue personal interests.
