00:00I've got 10 minutes to count, so...
00:03Hey, that is not a question.
00:08Exactly.
00:09Did you listen to the interview? I think it was okay.
00:12Yesterday we came to this understanding that collectively as NATO we have to step up here, including the US.
00:21Now, of course, our military will start the planning, but that is something which we are good at.
00:26I mean, NATO for 76 years has done this stuff.
00:28We have Baltic Sentry, we have Eastern Sentry, we have so many other missions and activities that will be done.
00:34And as soon as that is finalized, we will have to look where you have to take the decision.
00:38Is it in the North Atlantic Council? Is it at the level of the commanders? We'll see.
00:42But the most important thing is not the internal decision-making.
00:45It is that we protect the Arctic region, implementing the president's vision that we need a safe Arctic region.
00:52Do you seem to be the one that at the moment is best able to conduct a conversation with Donald Trump?
00:57Yes, what we will now do, of course, is start to work together within NATO with our senior commanders to see what is necessary.
01:04I know that the Arctic countries are all willing to do this. We want NATO to take the lead here and bring NATO together and all the allies.
01:13And I think also other allies want to participate.
01:15What are the key elements of that relationship here and how you create behind it?
01:19I have no doubt that we can do that quite fast. And yes, certainly I would hope for in 2026.
01:25I hope even early in 2026, but I'm not commenting to a date because I really want now our senior generals, our senior officers to really work on this.
01:33And I don't want to get in their way.
01:36I know that all allies want to do this. So this is something we will work expeditiously on every day under our leadership of our senior commanders in NATO with the seven Arctic countries.
01:54So, I mean, there is absolutely no difference of view. Everybody agrees, be it Finland, be it Norway, be it Sweden, be in Denmark, be in Iceland, be in Canada, be in the United States, that all these southern countries bordering on the Arctic have to work together.
02:09And I know that others, like I mentioned, the Netherlands, but I'm sure other allies will want to chip in and help.
02:19And of course, then you have that discussion, that negotiation is still going on between Denmark and the US and Greenland, specifically in Greenland.
02:28And that already had been established last week under the leadership of the vice president and the secretary of state with the Danish delegation, the foreign minister of Denmark, the foreign minister of Greenland.
02:37And I think that will now continue.
02:39I think we can manage. I mean, NATO is a huge alliance. And anyway, we need a 360 approach. So NATO has to defend itself against any adversary.
02:52And if the adversary becomes stronger in the north, then we have to focus on that. And in the meantime, we are stepping up in terms of spending, as you know.
02:59You can always take Donald Trump at this word. That is why I really think we are very glad to have him. And I commend him for his leadership.
03:14He is the leader of the free world and he is doing what I would love for a leader of the free world to do.
03:20And I knew that he would do it because I knew him from 1945 when I was prime minister. And I already was impressed by what he was doing.
03:26And he is doing it again, saving NATO at the summit in the Hague and now basically making sure that collectively as NATO, we will make sure that the Arctic is safe.
03:35Okay. What happened yesterday? I just explained. We agreed on that. What made the difference? I mean, he was talking. Thank you.
03:44Did you get some good work? No, no.
03:47No, no, no. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
04:05If you're reading state, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Okay, let me ask you.
04:07Okay.
04:35You
