US President Donald Trump abruptly stepped back on Jan 21 from threats to impose tariffs as leverage to seize Greenland and ruled out the use of force, saying that a deal is in sight to end a dispute over the Danish territory that risked the deepest rupture in transatlantic relations in decades.

Trump said he would never use force to acquire Greenland during his address to world and business leaders at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland and then met with NATO leaders to iron out the "future of Greenland" deal framework.

01:06It gets us everything we needed to get
01:08Does it still include the United States having ownership of Greenland like you said you wanted?
01:15It's a long-term deal
01:17It's the ultimate long-term deal
01:20And I think it puts everybody in a really good position
01:23Especially as it pertains to security and minerals and everything else
01:28How long will the deal be, Mr. President?
01:30They're infinite
01:32Did you speak to Denmark?
01:34Did you speak to Denmark?
01:35There is no timeline, but it's forever
01:36Will there be money involved?

01:46No way, Mr. President
01:47Will there be enough factors?
01:48Is it a good deal for your sons?
01:50People, what happens is that people are out there and they're working on it right now
01:54They're working on the details of the deal

01:58Will there be money involved?
02:00Will there be money involved?
02:02Donald Trump
02:03And what is clear after this talk is that the President's ambition is intact
02:10It is of course isolated and positive
02:14That there is said that we are not going to use military power
02:18That of course you should take down
02:20And we will of course continue to the diplomatic line
02:24That we were talking about when we were in the USA last year
02:32The government is very exciting
02:34US President Trump will always have the Greenland
02:36But it's very important, he doesn't want to travel with violence
02:40It will be negotiated, the Greenland will be sold
02:43It's of course very much space for speculation, for negotiations
02:46But important is not a militant pressure
02:50And that's the half of the middle of this Aktientag
02:52Today
02:53Man should always have the Schwächen of the market
02:55We should always buy
02:56Nothing is so hot
02:58As it is from Trump gekocht
03:00That's what we see in the Greenland
03:02I think that there are still a few
03:05But at the end
03:07There will be one of them
03:08That's what we must say
03:09The European
03:10Are of course
03:11Of course
03:12If the European
03:13Health Wit
03:33I would say a lot actually
03:34It feels like a huge relief
03:35In many ways
03:37Because of course
03:39what might happen because there have been talks about using force so it makes
03:48me super relieved but again you never know with with Donald Trump very
03:52thrilled to hear that first of all because he has been saying a lot of
03:58stuff about taking Greenland with force like he'll do it the hard way which is
04:05so scary to hear and I'm just thrilled that he has now announced that but I'm
04:11also like keeping my hopes down and still like hoping for the best and
04:18preparing for the worst because sometimes he can be saying a lot of stuff
04:24yeah
04:35you
04:41you
