00:01U.S. President Donald Trump marks the first year of its second term amid white rejection of his migration and economic policies domestically and international condemnation of blatant violation against the international rule of law. Let's go deeper on this with international analyst Danny Sho, who is currently in Haiti. Welcome, Danny.
00:18Greetings.
00:22Danny, welcome to From the South. We are speaking about Donald Trump marking that first year of his second term. There's lots to talk about, but let's first start domestically.
00:32We have seen large protests happening across the country in rejection to especially the migration policies and economic policies where people are saying that Trump has not been focusing on the real needs of the U.S. citizens in this first year.
00:47What is the current sentiment? What is the current situation happening within the United States in regards to this second term of the Trump administration?
00:59Trump campaigned that he would not start any new wars, but now he's trying to overthrow the government of Iran.
01:09We've seen his criminal actions against Venezuela. Here in Haiti, there's more U.S. soldiers and mercenaries invading every day.
01:20The U.S. people are seeing they've been sold a false bill of goods that Donald Trump is the ultimate hypocrite.
01:27He's only acting in the interest, not of the American people, but of himself and a tiny clique of billionaires.
01:34We see the incredible police state, the violence that exists in Minnesota and Oregon.
01:40There's so many contradictions within our own society.
01:45It's amazing that they think they can go on and invade and regime change and coup countries around the world.
01:52The imperial pretensions of this Donald Trump administration has been put clear to the world, to the international community.
02:00You were referring to Venezuela, but before we go into Venezuela, there's right now happening his pretension to take over Greenland under the alleged excuse that is for self-defense and to prevent Russia and China from taking over Greenland,
02:15something that both Russia and China have denounced that is completely false.
02:20What is the current state? Because this is impacting not, let's say, the enemy of the U.S., but it's impacting directly the closest allies of the U.S. within NATO
02:28and also between many European nations.
02:33Yeah, it's time for Europe to stand up.
02:36It's time for Europe to stop being the backyard, another colony of the United States.
02:43We'll see. All the European countries, specifically Germany, England, France has done, has followed the U.S.'s lead with the war on Russia, with the war on Iran, with the war on China.
02:55Can the Europeans have some type of actual integrity in terms of defending Greenland from Trump and from U.S. capital interest, transnational capital interest that will seek to destroy the Arctic?
03:11They'll destroy any part of the world if it means more profits for their pockets and their bank accounts.
03:17So it's really Trump and the billionaire clique versus all of humanity from Greenland to Iran, to Venezuela, to Cuba and across the world.
03:27You were also referring to, previously, to Venezuela and Iran.
03:31What is going to be the impact of the criminal action that Donald Trump administration took on January 3rd against the Bolivar Republic and the kidnapping of the constitutional president Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Sila Flores?
03:43The impact that it has for the international systems like the U.N. and all these different organizations we are supposed to prevent things like this from happening, which have been put into question, their effectiveness to deal with this kind of crisis.
03:55What is going to be the impact, not only for Venezuela now, but the entire region?
03:59Because now it's the rule of the jungle.
04:01With the use of force, they can do whatever they want.
04:04And if they're done, then they will have the military response, which is also now being threatened.
04:08Mexico, for example, Colombia, which is also currently under U.S. threats of military action on the ground.
04:14It shows precisely what we've known for so long.
04:20International law, the United Nations, the OAS, all of these bodies are really paper bodies.
04:38They're fictitious.
04:42The Trumps, the Bidens, the Obama Republicans, the two wings of them.
04:46They bow down before their dictates like accused.
04:50Prying off a piece of China like Taiwan.
04:53Trying to use Ukraine to build up more NATO and U.S. bases as a threat to Russia's self-determination.
05:01Right now we're seeing perhaps the most bold, defiant, arrogant iteration of U.S. imperialism.
05:09The imperialists themselves, the ruling class, are disgusted with Trump because he's so open about wanting the resources of a Greenland, of a Venezuela.
05:18Usually they use more pretext and diplomatic language to justify their coups, their invasions, their occupations.
05:25There's been over 200 of them in South America and the Caribbean.
05:30And it's ongoing.
05:31And it's really going to be the humanity, the 8.3 billion members of humanity.
05:38If we don't stand up, if we don't organize these, billionaires will continue to use the U.S. military for their own benefit.
05:47U.S. soldiers are not conscious.
05:49They've been fed nothing but propaganda against Venezuela or against Iran.
05:53But the Iranian people, the Venezuelan people, are not our enemy, nor is their leadership.
06:00We don't want war here.
06:02We want peace so everyone can thrive.
06:04Danny, before we conclude, you're calling Haiti.
06:07What's the current situation in the Caribbean nation that is going through many crises, especially now in this year where the authorities are attempting to hold the first elections mid-2026, mid-this year?
06:19What's the current situation, the current context that the Haitian people are living through?
06:23The past eight years since the La Saline massacre and the Grand Ravine massacre, the Haitian people have been screaming out.
06:32And under an occupation of paramilitaries, under the occupation of Barbecue Jimmy Chirisier, how many hundreds of thousands of Haitian families have been displaced from poor communities in the Haitian capital in La Tibonite?
06:48And now you have the invasion.
06:50Now you have the invasion of Eric Prince and Blackwater forces and private mercenaries.
06:56And the U.N. has now pledged 5,500 soldiers who are going to invade Haiti.
07:02The Haitian people are tired.
07:04What I hear here every day across Haiti is that they don't want more occupation.
07:10They don't want more guns.
07:11They don't want more arms.
07:13They want peace.
07:15So the Haitian people face the paramilitary indirect occupation.
07:19And now they're facing the direct colonial occupation.
07:22For the fourth time in the past 100 years, Haiti is under foreign occupation.
07:30The big news here in the past 10 days, these mercenary forces attacked Barbecue and Vive en Somme.
07:36The Haitian people are, in a sense, celebrating this.
07:39But who are the victims?
07:41The victims are innocents.
07:42They're civilians.
07:43It's not the fault of any Haitian if they leave in Ba del Ma or any of the popular communities.
07:48So I've been traveling through Haiti, through the countryside, listening to communities to give a voice to the most censored, forgotten, silenced people in the hemisphere.
07:58Thank you very much, Danny, for all these important inputs in the current context of the geopolitics of the world.
08:06Well, we were speaking with Danny Shaw, international analyst, about what is currently happening in Haiti,
08:11and also the current context of the first year of U.S. President Donald Trump's second term in his administration.
08:17And he's relocated to California until October 27th Mountaine certificate.
08:22This is a project in September 27th.
08:26Muhammad, I really think Tendral verge of a literature on American RJ-Podcast at chapter 28,
