00:00It seems that Paul Meskel is headed down Abbey Road.
00:03During a conversation at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles,
00:07Meskel's Gladiator 2 director Ridley Scott let slip that the actor may have some scheduling
00:12conflicts for their next film collaboration. In a conversation with Christopher Nolan,
00:16the filmmaker asked Scott if Meskel is set to star in his upcoming thriller feature,
00:21The Dog Stars. Scott confirmed this as true before correcting himself and explaining that
00:26Meskel's schedule may prevent the Gladiator 2 pair from reuniting on the new film.
00:31According to Scott, the actor is set to star in Sony Pictures' Beatles movies for director Sam
00:36Mendez. Maybe Paul is actually stacked up doing the Beatles next, so I may have to let him go.
00:42While this casting decision has not been confirmed by the studio,
00:45Meskel has been rumored to be a top choice to play Paul McCartney in the upcoming four biopics
00:50that Mendez is set to make about the famed Fab Four. Each film will be released theatrically and
00:55focus on a different one of the four main band members, McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison
01:00and Ringo Starr. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight last month, Meskel was
01:04asked about how it would feel to play McCartney in light of the rumors. It would be an incredible
01:09story to be attached to. The fact that Sam Mendez is attached to direct like truly it would be a dream
01:14come true. Also last month, Beatles drummer Starr told Entertainment Tonight that Barry Keoghan will be
01:19playing him in the films and that he understands that the actor has been taking drum lessons.
01:24Rumors have circulated that Joseph Quinn has also been considered for a role.
