00:00Israeli forces ordered dozens of Palestinian families in the southern Gaza Strip to leave
00:05their homes in the first forced evacuation since October's ceasefire. Residents in Hamas said the
00:11military was expanding the area under its control. On Monday, January 19, Israeli forces dropped
00:17leaflets in the southern town of Bani Suhaila, urging residents to immediately evacuate their
00:21homes. In the two-year war before the U.S. brokered ceasefire in October, Israel dropped
00:26leaflets over areas that were subsequently raided or bombarded. According to one resident,
00:31at least 70 families living in tents and partially damaged homes are affected by the evacuation
00:36order. Israel and Hamas accuse each other of major breaches of the ceasefire and remain
00:41far apart on the more difficult steps planned for its next phase.
