Armenia and Azerbaijan leaders hail peace at Davos as Serbian president warns of US-Europe divorce
Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents make their first joint appearance since the historic peace deal, as Serbia warns of a lasting US-Europe divorce at a Euronews panel at the annual summit in Davos.

00:02The presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia came together at the Euronews panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos
00:09for the first time since signing a historic peace deal brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump in the White House in August.
00:17The deal brought an end to three decades of fighting in what the world hopes will be the start of a prosperous chapter for a region marred with a difficult past.
00:25President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan says peace is an active decision that leaders must continue to make to avoid prolonged conflict, which only harms everyone.
00:36We took the situation into our hands and we did it.
00:41We restored justice, international law, our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and then we achieved peace.
00:48And then we stopped.
00:49And for the leader of the country, which suffered for 30 years, to stop at the right time is a very responsible and very important decision.
01:02We could have continued.
01:03I want to be very open with you and with the audience.
01:06But that would lead to endless wars.
01:09That would lead to more sufferings, more victims.
01:13Armenia's President Van Kachaturian echoed a similar message.
01:17The country with country.
01:47The two leaders were joined by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who says the world is headed to a dark place, and urged leaders to prioritize multilateralism over national interests.
02:02Everybody is taking care of its own national interests.
02:08Nobody cares about multilateralism.
02:11And this is the biggest mistake that all of us made in the past.
02:16And now no one can correct it.
02:18This divorce between the U.S. and Europe is not going to be just a temporary issue.
02:26It's going to last for quite a more time.
02:32And at the end, we'll all have to pay the price.
