00:00After everything Landman has put us through over these first two seasons,
00:04it honestly feels emotional to even talk about what comes next.
00:08Season 2 basically closed a door and opened another one at the exact same time.
00:12Like, Landman won't ever be the show that we have known for the past two years anymore.
00:17And that's exactly why Season 3 already feels so heavy, even before it begins.
00:22Season 2 followed Tommy when he should have been standing on solid ground.
00:26Monty was gone, M-Tex was his to run, and for a brief moment it felt like maybe this
00:31was his reward for surviving everything that came before.
00:35Almost immediately though, the weight of the job started crushing him.
00:39Galeno came back into his life as a living reminder that favors are never free.
00:43And this time, it was Cooper who was in the crosshairs,
00:46which was much more concerning for Tommy as a conscious father.
00:50At this point, I believe that there's something almost tragic about Cooper's
00:54gifted instinct about the refineries.
00:56I know, it should have been a blessing, but instead,
00:59it is yet another reason for terrible people to come closer and pressure this family.
01:03This season, with M-Tex on the edge of collapse,
01:06Cooper's talent started to look like a lifeline though.
01:09But, as we all know, lifelines can turn into nooses when the wrong hands grab them.
01:14At the same time, everything at home was unraveling.
01:18Tommy was trying to be a father, a partner, and a leader, all at once.
01:22And running parallel to his breakdown was Cammie's.
01:25Ultimately, to Noon's surprise, their relationship fractured.
01:28Slowly, but surely.
01:30Conversations became colder and their mutual trust slipped away.
01:34By the time Cammie made her move,
01:36which was basically firing Tommy and choosing to run M-Tex without him,
01:40it felt shocking, yes.
01:42But also, I think we can all agree that UT felt inevitable.
01:45For Tommy, being fired was losing the last piece of control he thought he had over his life.
01:50And when you strip everything else away,
01:53all he had left was family and that precious, hereditary instinct.
01:57That's how CTT oil exploration and cattle was born in the very final episode of the season.
02:03Starting that company with Cooper and TL was about money, of course,
02:06but it was also about choosing family over endless board meetings.
02:10For the first time in his entire life, Tommy wasn't keeping someone else's empire alive.
02:15Now, he is betting on himself,
02:17which is something I bet most of us have been dreaming about for our lives.
02:21So, good for him.
02:23And in that sense, I think we can all agree that he ended Landman Season 2 in a pretty peaceful mood,
02:28which was the least I was expecting from this season finale, honestly.
02:32Billy Bob Thornton expressed it perfectly in a recent interview about this season finale of Landman.
02:38He said,
02:38The end is the beginning of the season.
02:41Tommy's not the kind of guy who ever trusts happiness.
02:43But just for this one moment, Tommy lets himself be happy for a change.
02:47But I still think he's wearily happy, if you know what I mean.
02:51That weary happiness says everything.
02:53It's a man smiling while already bracing for the fall.
02:56Because yes, there was peace on the surface.
02:59But deep down, nothing about this ending,
03:01or shall we say, new beginning, is safe.
03:04First things first, as we are heading towards Season 3,
03:08Galeno is still there, hovering over everything.
03:11His plans are still unclear, and that might be the scariest part.
03:15He's undeniably charming, patient, and calculating,
03:18and Season 3 is going to force Tommy to confront what it really means to be in business with someone like that.
03:24Whether Tommy has truly made peace with that alliance,
03:27or whether he's just delaying the inevitable cost,
03:30is going to define what comes next.
03:32Plus, there's the offshore rig.
03:34That story is also far from over.
03:36Newsom heading out to sea in search of oil and gas
03:38is basically a ticking clock at this point, ready to bomb.
03:42The future of M-Tex and Cami's entire gamble
03:45rests on what happens out there in the dark water.
03:48If they strike oil, Cami basically wins.
03:51And if that happens,
03:52the collision course between her and Tommy becomes unavoidable.
03:56What makes Season 3 feel so exciting already
03:58is how much of the cast remains central part of this story.
04:02Like, unlike most shows,
04:04no one was erased at the end of Season 2.
04:06Instead, everyone was repositioned in their lives.
04:09But perhaps most importantly,
04:11Tommy is still at the center,
04:12and Billy Bob Thornton made it clear he's not going anywhere.
04:16He said,
04:16I don't see that stuff.
04:18I'm signed up for like five years or something,
04:20so as long as they want me, I'll be there.
04:22Cami's story feels far from finished as well.
04:25Angela's longing for stability and love is still unresolved.
04:29Cooper and Ariana stepping toward marriage is very exciting.
04:33And Ainsley's journey into independence feels surprisingly interesting.
04:37So yeah, I don't know how,
04:38but as we approach to Season 3,
04:40I am genuinely curious about every single one of these characters.
04:44So now we know that Season 3 isn't asking whether Tommy can start over.
04:48I mean, he already did start over.
04:50Instead, it's asking whether starting over was the bravest thing he's ever done,
04:54or the most dangerous mistake of his life.
04:56So it will be the season of consequences for him,
04:59which makes this even more interesting.
05:01And yes, we do know one thing for sure.
05:04Landman has officially been renewed for Season 3.
05:07Paramount Plus confirmed it back in December 2025,
05:11right in the middle of Season 2,
05:13which says a lot about how much faith they have in this story.
05:16There's no release date yet,
05:17but if the pattern holds,
05:19late 2027 feels likely.
