00:00President Trump shot a text over to Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Garstor this week.
00:05It has some, especially in Europe, a bit concerned. The text, first reported by PBS
00:11and confirmed by The Post, reads, quote, considering your country decided not to give
00:16me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped eight wars plus, I no longer feel an obligation to think
00:23purely of peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is
00:28good and proper for the United States of America. What's good and proper in the president's
00:34estimation is Greenland. And it's that last bit there about not thinking purely of peace that has
00:40raised the hackles of some world leaders. Trump went on to argue, as he has in the past, that
00:45Greenland cannot defend itself from Russia and China, which makes it a national security threat
00:50to the U.S. Now, the Norwegian Prime Minister and his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb,
00:55replied to Trump, suggesting a call to try to de-escalate tensions.
00:59Now, as of Monday evening, it was unclear whether such a call took place.
