00:00Well, the Hampton Wunderers' 2026 so far has been a story of incremental revival
00:06after a historically difficult start to their Premier League season.
00:10Bottom of the table for much of the campaign, Wolves finally recorded their first top-five victory in 20 matches.
00:16A 3-0 win over West Ham that brought a long-awaited relief to Molineux
00:19and underlined a shift in morale within the squad.
00:24Until that breakthrough, Wolves have endured the longest winless start to a Premier League season since 1992
00:29or unstretching back through the last end of the season.
00:33But with an emphatic victory, it gave players and supporters reason for optimism
00:38and appeared to lift some of the pressure on head coach Rob Edwards.
00:43Yeah, half-time we just needed, it was evident we needed to try and inject a little bit of life and something into us.
00:49I don't think we were particularly playing poorly,
00:53but we've not been saying that we weren't seeing the same zip that we've seen over the last few games
00:56and we weren't getting behind them enough and didn't carry enough of a threat.
00:59I thought we were a little bit, I think we were playing in front of them
01:01and they were happy for us to do that.
01:06So, yeah, made a little bit of a change, a tweak.
01:09I thought it had a bit of an effect because we started to get more control
01:12and look a bit more dangerous.
01:14Either work the perfect cross and not put it in the right positions
01:17or we put it in from a bit too deep for free kicks or whatever and didn't work them enough.
01:23You've got a lot of experienced evident defenders that are happy defending the box in a block
01:26and, you know, they can buy a little bit of time.
01:29They're happy with balls coming in from certain areas
01:30and we probably played into their hands without working them from side to side enough.
01:33Tried to give them a clue by putting Pedro Lima on towards the end
01:36to go, right, it's wide, it's crosses, let's shift them,
01:38but, yeah, we didn't quite do that well enough.
01:40That optimisation has been reinforced in recent weeks.
01:45Balls extended their Embiid and run to five matches across all competitions,
01:49including a spirited, goalless draw against Newcastle United
01:52that saw them stand toe-to-toe with a side-chasing European qualification.
01:58While survival remains a towering challenge,
02:00balls are still deep in the relegation zone.
02:02The signs of progress are tangible.
02:04Defensive organisation belief on the ball and sharper team shape
02:08are evident in performances that would have once been unthinkable for this squad.
02:13A lot better performances, but there's still a lot of time.
02:20There's still a lot of points to play for, you know.
02:22So is it an impossible task because plenty of people thought it was impossible?
02:25Look, it's a very, very difficult challenge for us, obviously,
02:29but we're going to continue to fight.
02:30We have to, you know, we're all professionals and we're competitive
02:34and we want to win games and we're not going to roll over
02:37and we're going to keep fighting all the way to the end.
02:39All the way to the end of the 38th game, by the way.
02:41You know, no matter what's happened, I can promise that.
02:44And that's all we can do.
02:47For a club that looked down and out,
02:492026 could be proving that even small steps forward
02:52can spark renewed confidence
02:54and a sense that the fight is far from over.
02:57That's all right.
