00:00The European Union supports Denmark and the people of Greenland and we do so united in our resolve.
00:30Now dear colleagues, the last days have also seen increased pressure on Denmark and Greenland.
00:55We will debate this later this week but it is important to say this.
01:01The European Union supports Denmark and the people of Greenland and we do so united in our resolve.
03:05We understand the need for Europe to take on more responsibility when it comes to defence
03:11and security, including doing more to protect the Arctic.
03:15And we have boosted defence measures and spending as a result.
03:19But we know that transatlantic and Arctic security can be achieved without the destabilising
03:27impact of calling Greenland and Denmark's sovereignty into question, or through measures
03:33like tariffs.
03:34We know that every serious global issue we must address is better faced when Europe
03:42and the United States act in sync with each other, each in our own way, with our disagreements,
03:50but guided and anchored in the values, freedoms and principles that will always define our
03:58relationship, that offers stability.
04:01Europe will always be open to continue to discuss in a spirit of mutual respect.
04:08Now, I know that some will mistake our way of calm, restraint and dialogue for weakness.
04:15They are wrong.
04:17It is the opposite.
04:18We are Europe.
04:20And we will always stand up for our way.
04:23We will always stand up for our way, rationally, confidently and deliberately.
04:30And we will make no apologies for that.
04:59You Roll for advice.
05:04You're welcome.
