00:00Allison Mack has begun her three-year prison sentence for racketeering and conspiracy related
00:04to her involvement in NXIVM. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the former TV
00:09actress and Smallville star is now in the custody of the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin,
00:14California. Mack, who was sentenced in Brooklyn Federal Court in June, was initially expected to
00:18begin her prison term on September 29th. Following her sentencing at the end of June,
00:23the 39-year-old had been allowed to remain out on bail and confined to her home until the end of
00:27September when she was expected to surrender to prison. Mack pleaded guilty to the charges that
00:32she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for NXIVM leader Keith Raniere. In addition to her
00:37three-year sentencing, Mack received a $20,000 fine and must serve 1,000 hours of community service.
00:43She was initially arrested in April 2018 after federal authorities raided the NXIVM headquarters
00:48near Albany in March of that year. NXIVM leader Raniere was sentenced in 2020 to 120 years in prison
00:54on sex trafficking charges. In a letter filed to the court ahead of her sentencing, Mack addressed
00:59quote, those who have been harmed by my actions. The letter stated, it is now of paramount importance
01:04for me to say from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry. She added, this was the biggest mistake
