00:00A 19-year-old Canadian backpacker was found dead surrounded by dingoes on Aghari Beach on Monday, January 19th, 2026.
00:08It's obviously a very confronting thing to see on the beach.
00:13We'll be considering whether she may have drowned, been attacked.

00:19Two men driving across the island's eastern beach discovered her body at around 6.35am
00:25when they scared away a large pack of dingoes.
00:28The tourist had been working on the island for six weeks
00:31and had told friends and co-workers that she was going for a swim at around 5am.
00:37Police are awaiting the results of post-mortem examinations to determine how she might have died.
00:43We simply can't confirm whether this young lady drowned or died as a result of being attacked by dingoes.
00:51A nearby campsite has been temporarily closed as investigations continue
00:55as signs warning of the dangers of the island's dingoes were installed along the beach.
