00:00Dan, get us up to speed with developments on this so-called Board of Peace.
00:06Just two troubles on the ground in Gaza when it comes to converting that ceasefire into the
00:13envisaged peace deal, the long-term peace. Now there's troubles up in the upper reaches,
00:18the superstructure President Trump wants to manage to administer the Gaza plan. As you noted,
00:24there is a Board of Peace. That is the topmost board, the body that would be chaired by Trump.
00:30He's invited other world leaders to be on board. But according to a draft charter that Bloomberg saw,
00:37any permanent presence on that board would require a billion-dollar buy-in. It would also see Trump
00:43effectively bestriding what could be a rival or a competitor body to the United Nations. Meanwhile,
00:50the panel underneath the board, the executive board, which would directly have more of a hands-on
00:55international scrutiny of the government, seem replacing Hamas in Gaza, the Palestinian government.
01:02That board now includes, according to the White House, a Qatari and Turkish representation.
01:08This is something Israel is not happy with. It sees those countries as too close to Hamas
01:13and not to be trusted when it comes to ousting Hamas as required by the plan.
01:17So over the weekend, rare recrimination from Israel. There's some trouble up top in this plan.
