00:23In mid-July last year, with Energy Department Secretary Sharon Garin and then Transportation Chief Vince Dizon,
00:30in tow, the President even took to the skies for a flyby assessment of the ongoing drilling of three new wells under Malampaya's Phase 4, Campin,
00:40Camago 3, Malampaya East 1, and Bagong Pag-asa 1.
00:44The newly discovered reservoir is projected to have some 98 billion cubic feet of untapped natural gas
00:50or equal to 14 billion kilowatt-hours of power enough to light up 5.7 million households,
00:57around 9,500 buildings and 200,000 schools for a year.
01:01Even better results of initial tests on the find shows some 60 billion cubic feet following in the wells per day,
01:08which is higher than the output of the existing Malampaya wells, plus the presence of condensate,
01:13a highly valuable liquid fuel that augurs well for the country's petroleum industry.
01:18The latest Malampaya gas discovery is the first major energy development in a decade
01:23in government's crusade or crusade to secure a steady and reliable supply of energy for the country.
