Mumbai: In an exclusive interview with Producer and Writer of Border 2, Nidhi Dutta, where she discussed this film as a responsibility rather than a creative idea. She shared how late CDS General Bipin Rawat entrusted her and her father, J.P. Dutta, with real stories of Indian war heroes, inspiring the film. Nidhi explained why 'Border 2' revisits the 1971 war beyond Longewala, highlighting the joint role of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. She addressed comparisons with 'Border', spoke about multi-starrers, her cinematic legacy, and her commitment to immortalizing soldiers’ sacrifices through cinema.

00:00Hello, welcome to Anand. Thank you.
00:02When did you come to the border? How did you come to the border?
00:07Actually, it's a responsibility. I won't say an idea.
00:12Because our late CDS, Chief of Defense Staff, General Vipin Rawat Ji,
00:18they called me a few years ago.
00:22And at that time, they had 22 heroes' stories.
00:28There were three or four of them in this film.
00:34And they told us that there are some stories about our soldiers,
00:39who have reached people to our soldiers.
00:41And that was the responsibility of their father and me.
00:44After that, unfortunately, we lost him in a helicopter crash.
00:50And I would say that this film is not just my and my father's dream.
00:55I think it was the late General Vipin Rawat Ji's dream.
01:00And after that, when I was sitting there,
01:06I was sitting there,
01:09saying that theory what is going to happen next in JP Films
01:12and how should be somebody's事 to the mother's company.
01:14At that time I would imagine bringing me together from them.
01:18And some of the stories,
01:20that seem to be back.
01:22Andlet that take to book four,
01:24that's雪印ис.
01:26I wrote a script and just Border 2 is in front of you.
01:31Border 1, Border 2, Border 2, Border 2, Border 2 is based on the other story.
01:36So, do you have another story?
01:40No, I am really happy that you have asked me this question because I was waiting for someone to ask me.
01:47This film's name is Border 2, because it is the story of this 71 story.
01:54Because the first border was created in the long battle of 71.
01:59The film was so popular, so huge in every Indian life.
02:08That we thought that the fight of 71 was only in the long battle of Pakistan.
02:15So, from now to now, this is a thing that we had to reach today's generation and youth to our people.
02:26It was very important that 71 was just a battle. It was a proper war.
02:30And in that war, there were many battles in that war.
02:33We fought on some air, on some ground and on some sea.
02:38Also, the fight of 71 was the first time that our three forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, fought with us.
02:48This is one thing that 99.9% Indians don't know.
02:53It will be on Google, in the public domain.
02:55But as Indians, we don't register that that was the first war.
02:59And that was the second reason that I thought it was very important that this film was made in 71.
03:05And we were the first forces of our three forces.
03:09And when I realized that we were talking about 71, that's the story of that story.
03:17The story of the days of the first border was the first border.
03:20The story of the December, the story of the days.
03:23Then I realized that our title was border 2, which Papa had registered for this day.
03:28And it was probably this day.
03:30So, it's because of 71, it's border 2.
03:33And also, the story of the long-term.
03:36Why did you say that your wife changed over the years?
03:39Because of the summer?
03:40Because of Kuldeep Singh, it's over.
03:42Now we have a trailer.
03:45And you will have to think of assets.
03:48So they are the major, Kuldeep Singh, which we prepared for the first film.
03:51If this is a different character, obviously she will be different.
03:58And that's why I thought it was the 코로.
04:02Because the border is a border, it is a border border and it is a border border.
04:17I am a J.P.T.T.A. and I am a J.P.T.T.A. and I can say this.
04:32I think that in this country, I can say that if I can make a war film or any attempt to make a war film, it will be a border border.
04:45And this is something that I should accept every filmmaker. I have also done it.
04:50It is not a cult, it is a film that has become an emotion.
04:54And that film will always compare to every war film.
05:00It does not mean that we are the other brave hearts, the other soldiers.
05:04We can't say their stories and tell them.
05:07We can't tell them. We can't tell them. We can't tell them.
05:09We can't tell them. We can't tell them.
05:11Because it is a cult. I think it will be a very wrong thing.
05:13Because the first border was that Papa made it.
05:16So I think we can say that those heroes for the long battle.
05:19We can't tell them again.
05:21We can't tell them again.
05:23And this film is also made that because of that.
05:25That we will be able to immortalize these soldiers and brave hearts in the celluloid for generations to come.
05:30to come and I hope
05:31that now there are so many war films
05:33that have been made in the world
05:35there are two war films
05:36that have been made in the two brave hearts
05:39who are
05:41huge heroes who have done so much
05:43for the country and
05:45I hope people make more war films
05:47I hope I can make more war films
05:49without thinking whether I will be compared
05:51to border one
05:52Yes, absolutely
06:03I am very proud of them
06:05and I don't think they would come in the public
06:09at this time
06:10Papa and Mama
06:12are very happy grandparents
06:15with my daughter
06:17but because it was an event in Bombay
06:19I insisted on them
06:21and she's just very proud right now
06:23so I was just happy to have her there
06:25I love this question
06:30because I all ask only about Papa's films
06:32and she's made 52 movies as an actor
06:37so it's a tough choice
06:38but I think
06:40Golmal and Shan
06:42one of them
06:44JP, is your favourite concert film?
06:48I think Border is his best film
06:51as a writer and a director
06:52but I also feel that
06:54as a filmmaker
06:55he has made
06:58a film called
06:59LOC Cargill
07:00and I think
07:00as a filmmaker
07:01who scale
07:02or
07:03which
07:04conditions
07:06he made that film
07:07I think that is my other favourite film of his
07:10I don't think that after Durendra
07:13and
07:14Durendra
07:14and
07:15Durendra
07:15and
07:16Sinqal Ero
07:17when we have seen a lot of films
07:18that is the same
07:19but after
07:21Durendra
07:22is a multi-start
07:22artist film
07:23that is a challenge
07:25and then
07:25he also likes it
07:26so what do you think?
07:27because Border 2
07:28is a lot of actors
07:30that are
07:30so how difficult
07:31is it
07:32to have a part
07:33in a different way?
07:35I think this is a very wrong question because I think Durandar is not a film that has changed
07:43the tides of a multi-starrer because you have to ask a question from such a girl whose father
07:49made a film called L.O.C. Cargill in which there was more industry, there were 32 actors
07:53in which there was more industry. So if there was a film that could be a multi-starrer as
07:58long as the characters are true to life, the characters are real and the actors who are
08:03living in this film, they realized that they are living in our real life soldiers and
08:10then they don't have to deal with multi-starrers.
08:12Do you have any changes in the industry, personally and purposefully?
08:20I think every year there are changes. I remember a few years ago, I remember that
08:26it was a little bit of time, but when it was 100 years of Indian cinema, my dad was alive
08:32and they told me that out of 100 years, our family has been part of it for 62 years.
08:39So yes, there have been three generations, changes have come a lot, changes will come a lot.
08:44But I think the main thing that has not changed is that if you make good cinema, the audiences
08:51will go to the theatre and that will be forever.
08:54Lastly, what is the production of the World War II?
09:01We are also making the production of the World War II in the World War II.
09:04I won't be able to do that anymore.
09:06But it is of a current event that just took place, which I cannot mention now.
09:12But yes, we are making something on the armed forces.
09:14What is the production of the World War II in the World War II?
09:16Just watch a film.
09:18There are our PVCs, Parambeer Chakra Award winners.
09:22People who have died for us.
09:24So that you and me remain in the house.
09:27So watch a film for them.
