00:23It's on a myriad of issues, not just that issue as it relates to the ride-along
00:28in some of those new enforcement requirements that have been advanced and established by the federal government.
00:34As it relates to Grady and the president, look, I just used his own words.
00:38He said he'd make us wealthier and healthier and we're poorer and sicker, period.
00:43You saw the new manufacturing numbers that just came out.
00:46I mean, that was one of his top priorities.
00:48It was one of his big promises.
00:51He's lost manufacturing jobs.
00:53I mean, this economy, the job creation is the lowest since the recession, 2003.
01:01It's a wrecking ball presidency.
01:03It's been a disaster.
01:05And it continues to unfold in extraordinary ways.
01:09An abject failure.
01:12F.
01:13And I don't think there's any objective way to suggest otherwise unless you're on the payroll.
01:23It's just a remarkable series of mistakes.
01:27You saw what just happened with Prime Minister Carney's visit to China with President Xi.
01:34He got an exemption to now start to flood the Canadian market, not with American manufactured cars, but Chinese manufactured cars.
01:44By lowering the tariff was 100 percent down to 9 percent.
01:49Turning his back on American manufacturing because Donald Trump didn't just flip off a worker at Ford.
01:55He gave a middle finger to the entire American automobile manufacturing sector.
02:03And China continues to flood the zone.
02:06I said it during the state of the state, and I refer back to my comments in detail what I mean by that.
02:13This is an extraordinary wrecking ball presidency.
02:17He is flailing in every category.
02:22On a weekly basis, on a weekly basis, the courts, even those that he appointed, are rejecting this administration and its policies.
02:36So I cannot impress upon you more.
02:39I may be generous with that grade of F.
02:43Governor, what was the last time you spoke with him?
02:44It was that night before he federalized 4,000 National Guard, sent 700 active-duty Marines, not overseas, but to the second-largest city in the United States.
02:57And in the ensuing months, we've seen BORTAC teams, people dressed up, tactical gear, Apache helicopters,
03:08descending streets all across America, mass men, without providing identification, and we're in court on that.
03:15I was proud to sign the first anti-masking bill in this country.
03:19He is trying to stoke a civil war in this country.
03:23It is a disgrace what he's doing in Minneapolis.
03:26It is a disgrace what he's doing all across the United States of America, terrorizing communities.
03:31It is a disgrace what his Department of Homeland Security is putting out.
03:37I mean, these ads evoking the worst, the 1930s, very intentionally stoking tensions,
03:52white supremacy being promoted actively by this administration, the corruption and graft,
03:57the likes of which we've never seen in modern history, modern world history,
04:03modern world history, and I can give you chapter and verse on that.
04:10None of this is normal, and it cannot be normalized.
04:15So we take it very seriously.
04:17There are 53 lawsuits and counting, overwhelming success in terms of our litigation posture,
04:23very aggressive in calling this out, drawing lines literally, not just figuratively.
04:28Once again, another example of overreach by the Trump administration.
04:33Suing us and suing the people of California for Prop 50,
04:37willing to once again be rejected in that 2-1 decision that came out this week.
04:42There's not enough time.
04:44You don't have enough tape for me to walk through just what he's done in the last week,
04:49let alone the last month and last year.
04:52So no.
04:54Is there an emergency plan for the state if and when we see protests like we did back in June?
04:59Of course.
05:00We game all that out.
05:01Governor, would you think you're deploying the National Guard?
05:03I'm working, and I'll answer that, and it's a good segue.
05:08We have a, and you've seen some podcasts with other governors,
05:13where we've publicly been able to engage comparing notes privately.
05:17We do that very consistently.
05:18Governor Walz and I, back and forth the last few days, the mayor, Minneapolis as well, at all levels.
05:27I mean, this is code red in this country.
05:29It's not, you know, flashing yellows.
05:32It's code red in the United States of America.
05:34It's the 250th anniversary of our founding fathers this year.
05:36We're going to be celebrating in July.
05:38The best of Roman Republic, Greek democracy, co-equal branches of government, the rule of law, not the rule of Don.
05:46And so I hope it's donning on every single damn person, Republicans and Democrats, what we are up against.
05:51We will lose our republic unless we don't speak out.
05:55And so I just applaud people that are peacefully protesting.
05:58I applaud people of courage and conviction.
06:01I applaud these governors and mayors for standing firm, advocates for doing the same, peacefully, using the rule of law, due process, the courts.
06:10I plead with the American people to wake up to what's going on.
06:13We have that chance.
06:14Take back the House of Representatives and take back the Senate if we do our job.
06:19Popular sovereignty.
06:21We do our job.
06:22And so I'm going to try to do my part.
06:24I've got a year left and continue to do my part as a private citizen.
06:31And I hope we all do as well.
06:33Forgive me.
06:34Will you consider deploying the National Guard to protect citizens against ICE officers?
06:38Well, we've always – I've – let me step back.
06:45From the first week I was in office, I deployed the National Guard.
06:48294.
06:49What have you seen the last week?
06:50294 National Guard to the border.
06:52I had one of the largest deployments in California history during two incidents that occurred, two issues that precipitated that distribution or rather deployment of the National Guard.
07:11That was during some of the unrest that we were experiencing and sort of peak COVID and the unrest in the streets in Southern California.
07:19And recently over 3,000 to help with fire recovery in Southern California.
07:24We have rattlesnake teams that I've deployed that are doing prevention work, fire prevention work throughout the state.
07:31We have task forces.
07:32We have National Guard representatives working on counter-narcotics here in San Francisco and throughout the region in the Bay Area, JAGS, helping support the DA's office and others.
07:42So the question is, do I support deploying the National Guard when and if necessary, depending on criteria and conditions?
07:51So I won't speculate beyond that, what that would look like, but only as necessary.
08:03Governor, another question.
08:05We obviously are hearing the big commitment coming from the state.
08:09We heard the big commitment that comes from the city.
08:11Do you expect any federal dollars to come to help these people?
08:14I mean, the president moved forward, they said the private thing out loud with their cuts to behavioral health.
08:21And I just want to remind you, every time there's a mass shooting, what is the one thing they fall back on?
08:25It's not the gun, it's mental health.
08:27You know where their priorities are.
08:28It was reflected.
08:29They were just humiliated and there was such backlash that they had to stand down on that promotion of those significant behavioral health cuts.
08:36He is trying to dismantle many different federal agencies.
08:45We've seen what he's done to the Department of Education.
08:47You see what he's doing in real time to FEMA.
08:49And he's doing the same to HUD, as we know it.
08:52So, no, I don't expect they will do anything but use this issue as a cudgel to advance their political agenda, but not an open hand, always a closed fist.
