I'm a volunteer firefighter, along with the 55,000 other volunteer firefighters that I'm here representing today.

I'm just devastated by the way that everything's gone, the way that everything has been handled.

I joined to be a firefighter when I was 16 to protect my family, to protect my neighbours, my community and to protect the state.

Now what's happening at the moment is we haven't got the opportunity to do that to the best of our world.
