00:00Hello, and welcome to The Traitors Uncloaked,
00:02the official visualized companion podcast hosted by me, Ed Gamble.
00:06Before we proceed, a crucial spoiler alert.
00:08This show is full of them.
00:10So if you haven't seen episode 8 of The Traitors,
00:12please stop watching immediately and only return when you've caught up.
00:16You have been warned.
00:18Coming up, we'll be discussing The Traitors' high-risk murder of Adam
00:21and whether or not it's paid off.
00:23We'll look at our Traitors' continued bloodlust
00:26as they opt to murder instead of seduce.
00:28Plus, ghost hunter-turned-ghost Adam
00:30and recently banished Faithful Sam
00:32will be with us to dissect their time on the show.
00:35And we are joined by, straight from the Strictly dance floor,
00:38superfan Lavoie and Series 3 favourites
00:41Traitor Linda and Faithful Alexander.
00:49Welcome, welcome to all of you.
00:51Thank you for coming on Uncloaked.
00:52First of all, are we enjoying the series so far?
00:55Oh, yes.
00:56This season is epic.
00:58It changes within the minute.
01:00Yes.
01:00If someone's got heat on them, then they're safe by the end of it
01:03or someone you think is safe by the end of it,
01:04they're up for murder or a limb.
01:06Oh, it's just non-stop change.
01:07We've had a lot of people without heat on them
01:09just pulling the ripcord.
01:10It's exactly...
01:11Going mad and then just burning out in a flurry of glory.
01:15It's been quite amazing, hasn't it?
01:16Yeah, definitely.
01:18We've got to talk about that breakfast,
01:19an extremely tense breakfast at the top of this episode.
01:22The traitors are waiting to see if their murder of Adam
01:25has actually paid off.
01:26It's obviously super high risk.
01:28Yeah.
01:28They didn't know who had the shield amongst the three
01:30they were talking about.
01:31How do you think the traitors are feeling at that moment,
01:33Lavoie, while they're waiting to see who walks in?
01:36Probably believe they didn't get any of that flower arrangement
01:38in their breakfast.
01:39I mean, it's a lot of table centre work.
01:42I think that was their main concern.
01:43Whoever does the toast and the coffee
01:45and then you have to do all the flowers along.
01:47It must be exhausting.
01:48But I think they're obviously the high risk.
01:50So many shields.
01:51Yeah.
01:52Have they got it right?
01:53And I think even as a viewer, you're there thinking
01:55there's no way they could have picked that one
01:58or two lucky chances of it not being a shield.
02:00But they did it.
02:01They nailed it.
02:02They did it.
02:02And I was sort of willing them to have failed.
02:05I don't know why.
02:06Like, normally I'm sort of team traitor.
02:08But this time I think we've had so many
02:09sort of outstanding faithfuls that
02:11let's see if the faithfuls can bring it back.
02:14But no, the traitors are too good.
02:15They absolutely sniped Adam.
02:17It was incredible.
02:18Linda, as a former traitor,
02:20how are you preparing for this moment of breakfast
02:22when you're not knowing if you've
02:23successfully murdered Adam?
02:25Well, I could start crying.
02:27Maybe.
02:29Before anything happens, you come in crying.
02:32Before I know anything.
02:34Yeah.
02:35You could shout,
02:36who the hell is it going to be
02:37at the top of your voice?
02:38I could do this.
02:39Such range, Linda.
02:43Yes, exactly.
02:45Alexander, we've seen shields being used
02:47strategically on the game before.
02:49When it's done successfully,
02:50how does it feel to know that you as a faithful
02:52have manipulated the traitor options for murder?
02:55Because obviously, with the secret shields,
02:57they don't know who's got a shield.
02:59Yes.
03:00Yeah, and that happened in our series
03:02when I was at the doll's house.
03:05Jake got a shield.
03:05We didn't tell anyone who had it.
03:07But I think it's something we've seen a lot.
03:10I'm not sure it's that effective.
03:12I think James said it really well.
03:13It's sort of 80% chance
03:15they're going to land on somebody anyway
03:17because only one person's got it.
03:18So it's not a bad idea to have a shot.
03:20And if you get that right, as we've seen,
03:22it throws the cat among the pigeons.
03:23Everybody thinks,
03:24well, it must have been from that group.
03:26So it's actually quite a high chance.
03:28And if it does, it throws everyone off.
03:29So I actually think it's a pretty smart move.
03:31Yes.
03:32Just to let you know,
03:32because of a previous episode of the series,
03:34we don't use the phrase cat among the pigeons.
03:36We use the phrase cat among the chickens now.
03:38Oh, yes.
03:39You've got to be inclusive of all.
03:41That's a new phrase.
03:42Just add that in here.
03:43I'll say cat among the chickens.
03:44Now you've got it.
03:46Do you remember when traitors first started
03:48and you got a shield,
03:49the shield thing was like,
03:50oh, that's amazing.
03:51I'm safe.
03:51Yeah.
03:52It's almost dangerous to have a shield,
03:55to be seen, to want a shield,
03:56to hide the shield, isn't it?
03:57It's almost,
03:58it puts you in either category of like,
03:59oh, were you trying to hide that
04:00because you're a traitor?
04:01Yeah.
04:02Exactly.
04:02It's just scary.
04:04Well, it's dangerous to want a shield
04:05and it's dangerous to not want a shield.
04:07Shields are dangerous, aren't they?
04:08Yes.
04:08It's evidence of both being a faithful
04:10and of being a traitor.
04:11Exactly.
04:11If you're desperate for a shield,
04:12they're like,
04:12oh, a traitor would be desperate for a shield.
04:14And then if you don't want a shield,
04:15a traitor would not want a shield.
04:16And I always think there's two things.
04:17James actually did the thing
04:20you expect a faithful to do,
04:21which is quietly try and protect himself.
04:23Yes.
04:23But there's something different,
04:24which is how much you trust that person
04:26or sort of almost like them.
04:28And I think that's its own problem.
04:29Also, he's a gardener.
04:30If you see something shiny in the dirt,
04:32you've got to pick it up, haven't you?
04:33What else could you do?
04:34Yes.
04:35We don't want to insinuate
04:36that all gardeners are thieves.
04:38Let's put that record straight out there.
04:41Yeah.
04:42It became pretty clear immediately
04:43that James's actions had consequences
04:45beyond Adam's murder.
04:48You all right?
04:49It's just made me go into like full self-preservation.
04:53I know I was pissed off at James,
04:54but I was also pissed off at myself
04:56because I'm like,
04:57I'm here to play a game,
04:58here to win.
04:58Why didn't I just grab a shield?
05:00Anyway,
05:01that's just made me just like,
05:02a switch has gone.
05:02I'm like,
05:03if there's one today,
05:03I don't understand,
05:04I'm grabbing it.
05:06It's like we were saying,
05:07it's every player for themselves.
05:09Yeah, it is.
05:10I think that Harriet speech at breakfast
05:12of I'm not playing a team game anymore,
05:14it's a solo game.
05:15I think that's put that seed of them going,
05:17oh, actually,
05:18it is everyone for themselves
05:19because I think they'd started to gel a little bit
05:21and she was like,
05:22nah, enough of this.
05:23Yeah, the five of them were going to discuss
05:24and she was like,
05:24I've had enough of that.
05:26I think you're totally right.
05:27The only thing I'd say is,
05:28I think that also shows the consequence
05:30of playing a game only by yourself
05:31that Harriet got voted out by the whole table.
05:34You know,
05:34it is a team game
05:35if you're going to survive.
05:36I think Sam was accused of that being
05:38a personality change.
05:40You know,
05:40obviously the thing we hear a lot on Traitors
05:42is your behaviour's changed.
05:43Yes.
05:44And him grabbing that shield
05:46and going out all for himself
05:47has been,
05:48that's a personality change.
05:49We've seen that a lot with various players.
05:52Alexander is a faithful
05:53who was under suspicion a lot.
05:55A lot.
05:55Of course.
05:56Was maintaining a consistent persona,
05:58something that you had to think about.
06:00Yeah,
06:00it was something I thought
06:01was incredibly important.
06:03If you sort of act outside
06:05what people think you're going to do,
06:07that's when you get
06:08sort of voted out.
06:09Yeah.
06:10I mean,
06:10he was first out the cabin.
06:11Either that's a clever tactic
06:13or he was just terrified
06:14by what was going on
06:15in the cabin.
06:16Yeah,
06:16like,
06:17get me out.
06:18Yeah.
06:18How long would you have lasted in there,
06:19Lavoie,
06:20do you think?
06:20Well,
06:20what not many people realise,
06:21I was actually one of the hands
06:22that came up through the table.
06:25I think you did a great job.
06:26I know.
06:27Honestly,
06:27I'm trying my best
06:28to be on every BBC show.
06:30I thought,
06:31maybe Claudia's going to leave this one.
06:33So,
06:33you know,
06:33I'll get in.
06:34You just had a big night out in Scotland,
06:36right?
06:36And you were trying to open up there.
06:39I was like,
06:39great,
06:39we'll use it.
06:41Oh God,
06:42I think I would have been
06:42out of that cabin.
06:44Yeah.
06:44Very,
06:44I mean,
06:45they went blood down the walls,
06:46things.
06:47Oh,
06:47horrible.
06:47Yeah,
06:47we were screaming watching this.
06:49I love all that stuff.
06:50It's so over the top.
06:51I thought it was brilliant.
06:52And the clown,
06:53you get to see some old favourites
06:55like the clown.
06:56Oh yeah.
06:56Yeah,
06:56I know.
06:57Blood down the walls
06:57and we all screamed at a balloon popping.
06:59And I got them on.
07:02What would you have least liked
07:03to have seen in that cabin?
07:04What's your personal phobia,
07:06Linda,
07:06that you could have seen in there?
07:07Oh,
07:08mice or rats.
07:09Yeah.
07:10I wouldn't like that
07:11because I don't like them.
07:12Yeah.
07:13Or someone just shouting
07:14traitors through a window.
07:16Yes.
07:16So we reached the turret
07:20at the end of the episode
07:21and the decisions
07:22that the traitors have to make
07:23is,
07:24in their words,
07:24pivotal.
07:25It's another choice
07:27between murder and seduction.
07:28Yeah.
07:29Do we agree
07:29with Rachel and Stephen's decision
07:31to murder
07:31instead of seduce Lavoie?
07:33I do.
07:34Yeah,
07:35I think so.
07:35I just think the group
07:36is so risky and divided.
07:38It's better just to keep it
07:39within themselves.
07:40Yeah,
07:41absolutely.
07:42I just don't believe
07:43they're going to stick together though.
07:44I don't know whether Rachel's
07:45going to cross Stephen
07:46or Stephen's going to cross Rachel
07:47but I just think
07:47they're unsettled.
07:48Well,
07:48they made that pact
07:50before the family tree
07:51that they would never
07:52write each other's names down
07:53and that they were going
07:53to stick together.
07:54But at the time,
07:56I thought,
07:56absolutely not.
07:57No way.
07:58Rachel is going to kill him
08:00as soon as...
08:00That's what I think.
08:00I think Rachel will be the one
08:01that will have the twist,
08:02I think.
08:03But it's lasted longer
08:04than I thought it would.
08:05Oh,
08:05absolutely.
08:06And Stephen is obviously
08:08really supporting Rachel.
08:10Yeah.
08:10And Rachel did say
08:11that she would try
08:13and stand by Stephen
08:14as much as she could
08:15and try and divert
08:17the suspicion
08:19from Stephen
08:20by going to Faraz.
08:21But at some point,
08:22if everyone goes for Stephen
08:23and she doesn't,
08:24she's going to have to, right?
08:25Oh, yes.
08:26In that case,
08:27which is what I said to Mina,
08:28I said,
08:28if everybody goes for me,
08:30then vote for me
08:30because otherwise
08:31it looks suspicious.
08:32Right, right, right.
08:33That's good.
08:34And also,
08:34I feel like as long as Stephen
08:35is useful to Rachel,
08:37she'll keep the pact.
08:38Yes.
08:38I feel like when he becomes
08:39too unuseful
08:40or it gets too deep
08:41into the game,
08:42I think that's where
08:43he's at risk.
08:44So I don't think
08:44the Alliance has been tested yet.
08:46Sorry.
08:46Who would they recruit,
08:47do you think?
08:47Who would be a good...
08:48I wouldn't risk anybody.
08:49So they talked about
08:50the recruiting of Matthew
08:51because obviously Matthew
08:53asked to be recruited
08:54in the confessional.
08:56Yeah.
08:56And then throwing him
08:57under the bus.
08:58And then obviously
08:58they'll throw him
08:59under the bus
08:59if that happened.
09:01But they call him dangerous.
09:02Yeah.
09:03If they recruited him,
09:04he'd be dangerous.
09:05And you've got to agree
09:05because if he's going
09:07away from the faithful
09:08in a confessional
09:09and saying,
09:09I want you to recruit me,
09:10you can't trust him
09:11to do anything,
09:12I don't think.
09:12No.
09:13But I just love that
09:14in his head
09:14that's still happening.
09:15In his head,
09:16he's like,
09:17well, I've got this deal
09:17with the traitors.
09:18Should I be a faithful today
09:20or should I not?
09:20It's like, well,
09:21probably best to stick
09:22to what your role is
09:23for today.
09:23What you actually are.
09:24For today.
09:26To go,
09:26I've made this deal
09:27with the traitors.
09:28You've not made a deal.
09:29You didn't offer them
09:29anything in return.
09:30That was the key point.
09:31What's he offering
09:32in exchange?
09:33I mean,
09:33he did, though,
09:34to be fair to him,
09:36he kind of got the idea
09:37which is that
09:37you're not really asking
09:38for responses
09:40from the traitors
09:40because whatever
09:41they'll give you
09:41is just semi-nonsense.
09:43What you have an opportunity
09:44to do is to speak to them.
09:45Yes.
09:46And he used it
09:46to fire his shot
09:47and say,
09:47please take me.
09:49Yes.
09:49Which is a sort of...
09:50Thirsty.
09:51Yes, thirsty,
09:52exactly that.
09:53He is thirsty for traitors.
09:54Yes.
09:54Yeah, yeah.
09:55He was very thirsty
09:55and her it was the opposite.
09:57So much so
09:58that she actually left.
10:00Yeah.
10:00Yes.
10:01That un-thirsty.
10:03Burnt the church down
10:04as she walked out.
10:06She could have had flames
10:08behind her
10:08as she walked,
10:09couldn't she?
10:09Like in an actual movie.
10:10It was such a big exit.
10:12Okay.
10:13Banished faithful Sam
10:14and murdered faithful Adam
10:16join us next.
10:17But first,
10:18let's see how they reacted
10:19when they found out
10:19the identity of the traitors.
10:21Oh, yes.
10:24Hello, Sam.
10:27How are you doing?
10:28How are you doing?
10:28You're good, bud?
10:29Yeah, mate, you're good.
10:31Yeah.
10:31Brilliant.
10:33Yeah, so what happened
10:36when I didn't come back?
10:37I think it was
10:38confusion at first
10:40but then also
10:41it made sense
10:42in a way.
10:43Yeah, of course.
10:43More confusion was about
10:45why I came back
10:46than it was you being murdered.
10:48Like, it was pretty clear.
10:49Like, there was a lot
10:49of heat on me anyway.
10:50Told you I was a faithful.
10:51Yeah.
10:52So, who at the moment
10:54is top of your radar
10:56from a traitor perspective?
10:58Who do you think is a traitor?
10:59I reckon Matt,
11:01Roxy and Rachel
11:02and if there's a fourth,
11:05Faz,
11:06I reckon.
11:07At the start,
11:08I did suspect you
11:09as a traitor
11:10but I felt you got
11:11so much stick
11:12and you handled it
11:13so well.
11:14Do you know what I mean?
11:14You battered off
11:15the questions that
11:16really,
11:17to me,
11:18a faithful could do.
11:20What was you?
11:20Was you a faithful
11:21or was you a traitor?
11:22This is difficult
11:23because I know you hate
11:24being lied to
11:25and deceived
11:26but I am
11:27a faithful.
11:31Yeah, see,
11:31I knew it.
11:32There you go, yeah.
11:33Team faithful,
11:34team faithful.
11:34All day.
11:35All day.
11:36Yeah, see,
11:36I knew, I knew.
11:37So,
11:38who are your traitors then?
11:39Oh, yeah.
11:40So, traitors for me
11:41were not dissimilar
11:42to you actually.
11:43I think Roxy
11:44and I think Faz
11:48and I questioned Faz
11:48last night.
11:49I still think Ellie.
11:51Okay, yeah.
11:52And I actually think
11:53there are only three.
11:54If there were a fourth,
11:56I would be definitely
11:57looking at Stephen.
11:59Yeah?
11:59Yeah.
12:00Right then, mate.
12:01I am desperate
12:02to find out
12:03who these traitors are.
12:03Shall we have a look?
12:04Oh, yeah,
12:05let's do this.
12:07Just one by one,
12:08but I can't take all at once.
12:09No, no,
12:10one by one.
12:12Right.
12:14So,
12:15number one,
12:16Stephen.
12:18You've done it.
12:18I knew it
12:19and last night
12:19confirmed it for me as well.
12:21I was like,
12:21he's not...
12:22Yeah.
12:23Yeah.
12:23I knew that.
12:24See, he was never on my radar.
12:26Oh, I just knew it last night.
12:27I was like,
12:27watch who brings up my name now
12:29and he was the first one
12:29to do it.
12:30Yeah.
12:30So, yeah.
12:31So, I'd sit the other one.
12:32Let's do the next one.
12:33Let's do the next one.
12:34Oh, no.
12:44Rachel.
12:45Oh, no.
12:46Rachel.
12:47Oh, and you were on her.
12:48Harriet was right.
12:50Harriet was right
12:51and we all voted her out.
12:53Is that...
12:54Is it just those two?
12:55Just them two, look.
12:55Just those two.
12:56Yeah.
12:58Oh, I mean,
12:59Rachel, wow.
13:01Planet of life.
13:01I think she deserves to win.
13:03So, bloody hell, Matt and Roxy are faithful.
13:05Yeah.
13:05And Adam and Sam are with us now.
13:12Welcome.
13:13Welcome to Uncloaked, both of you.
13:15Sorry that you've left the game,
13:16but it's delightful to see you here.
13:17It happens, doesn't it?
13:18It does happen and...
13:20Quite reliably.
13:21Yeah.
13:22You must leave eventually, you know.
13:24Of course, that's it.
13:25No, I've lived it.
13:26Couple's still up there.
13:26If it was Winner Stays On,
13:28that would be a really weird show.
13:29The winner gets the castle.
13:30Could you imagine?
13:31You'd be like, hey!
13:32But we saw in that clip,
13:34between you,
13:35you got both traitors.
13:36Yeah.
13:37You got Rachel and you got Stephen.
13:40But Rachel genuinely blew my mind.
13:42She didn't come up for me once.
13:44I wasn't remotely suspicious of her.
13:46I think at the start,
13:48when she was just so focused on Ross,
13:50when everyone else wasn't,
13:52I thought,
13:53that can't be a traitor's play
13:55or is it just the best I've ever seen?
13:57Yeah.
13:58So that name came up
13:58and completely threw me, yeah.
14:00Yeah, she's very good.
14:01She's very good.
14:01But you were suspicious of her, Adam?
14:02Yeah, slightly, yeah.
14:03It was just the little looks
14:04and that she gave around the table and that
14:06and, okay,
14:07I should have put my big boy pants on
14:09and said something.
14:10But in that moment,
14:11I was just like,
14:12I need to fly under the radar
14:13and I was just watching from a distance.
14:15I had theories, obviously,
14:16but I just needed concrete evidence
14:19for them theories.
14:21But sadly, I didn't get it.
14:22The whole technique on traitors
14:24is when to put your big boy pants on.
14:25Isn't it?
14:26A hundred percent.
14:27You need to put your big boy pants moment
14:29and it rarely comes up.
14:31So I think you're right
14:32to try and fly under the radar
14:33as long as possible.
14:34But flying under the radar
14:35also means you're a prime candidate
14:37for murder.
14:37Being murdered, a hundred percent.
14:38Yeah.
14:39We have to ask you both
14:40about James stealing the shield
14:42because in a sense,
14:44it led to your murder, Adam,
14:46and your banishment, Sam.
14:47What was it like to find out
14:48about this betrayal?
14:50I wanted to slap him.
14:52No, honestly,
14:53I generally wanted to slap him
14:55and I thought,
14:56in my head was going,
14:57Adam, Adam, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.
14:59And I was like,
15:00listen, right,
15:02he's done what he's done.
15:03If he would have said
15:04on the mission,
15:06like, I've got to take a shield.
15:07Yeah.
15:08Fine.
15:08We've got two to defend five.
15:10That's the aim of the game.
15:11We understand that.
15:12Still bringing some money back,
15:14but not, you know,
15:15not taking it all.
15:16And, no,
15:17he went behind our back.
15:18And I don't like being lied to.
15:20I know I'm in a game
15:21that people would lie to you.
15:22Yeah.
15:22But I don't like being lied to face to face.
15:24Yeah, yeah.
15:25And he did.
15:25And I asked him a few times
15:27as we walked into the castle,
15:28it was you, wasn't it?
15:28He could have just gone,
15:29yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:30Yeah.
15:30It was me.
15:31And I would have left it,
15:32but he didn't.
15:32And I was just gobbling off.
15:34And also,
15:34he was quite bad at lying as well.
15:36Yeah.
15:36So it was quite clear.
15:37Yeah, yeah.
15:38Because he kept just going,
15:38want me?
15:39No one's asked you yet.
15:40It wasn't like traitorous behaviour.
15:42It was just sneakiness
15:44and it ruins our plan as a team.
15:47And there was this like horrible moment
15:49when we started adding up the shields per team
15:51as we were walking back to the castle.
15:53And we're going,
15:54well, we got one.
15:56We got seven in total.
15:58There's three in that team.
15:59Two, one, that's six.
16:01Hold on.
16:02And this like,
16:03the panic that sets in.
16:04And I cannot tell you
16:05how many thoughts go in your head like,
16:07don't look like that
16:07because they might think this.
16:08Don't say anything now.
16:09Oh, we need to figure out quickly
16:10who's got it.
16:11And James goes,
16:12wasn't me.
16:12And then runs up upstairs.
16:14And you're like,
16:15well, let's just count James then.
16:16What is this happening here?
16:17And then me and Adam were like,
16:18it's definitely not us.
16:19No, okay,
16:19it's got to be James.
16:21And then it was,
16:22yeah, it was.
16:22He tried to put it on you as well,
16:23didn't he, Adam, briefly?
16:24Yeah, yeah.
16:25He worked out it had to be
16:26someone at the back.
16:27And he went,
16:27well, that's just me and you.
16:28So it must be you.
16:30He bowled into the snooker room
16:32and said,
16:33I took the shield.
16:34I said,
16:34I know, mate.
16:35It felt like in your series,
16:40people were quite individual.
16:41They weren't grouping up
16:42into groups to go after people.
16:44They had their own theories.
16:46They pushed it
16:46and they sort of did their own thing.
16:48Is that how it felt
16:49in the castle a bit more fragmented?
16:50It's a really interesting point
16:51about being that sort of
16:52a little bit segmented
16:53and I was surprised at that.
16:54I think my closest alliances
16:55were Ross and Nettie
16:56and they both went
16:57right at the start.
16:58You have to keep making alliances.
17:00But then I'm going,
17:01but I don't trust anyone.
17:02I can't trust what they're telling me.
17:05Is the story they're telling me correct?
17:07And then you kind of go in on yourself
17:08and you're not making alliances
17:09and then you're second guessing,
17:11triple guessing.
17:12Obviously, Adam,
17:13the chances of successfully murdering you
17:15were like 33%.
17:17It was very low
17:17because they were talking about
17:18three people with shields.
17:21They discounted you
17:21from the conversation, Sam,
17:23in the turret.
17:24How does it feel
17:25knowing that those odds
17:27were so low
17:28and they managed to murder you?
17:29Well, two of them
17:29that was on there,
17:30James and Jesse had the shields
17:31and they kicked me.
17:32So they must have knew.
17:33They must have knew.
17:34Do you think?
17:34Yeah, I reckon they did.
17:35My face said it all.
17:37It said it all.
17:38I was looking at daggers, mate.
17:40You know what I mean?
17:40If I was a traitor,
17:41it would have been done.
17:42You know what I mean?
17:43Interestingly,
17:44admitting that you didn't have a shield, Sam,
17:46was what saved you from that murder
17:47because Stephen thought
17:48you were lying about it.
17:49I know.
17:50And I was not that clever
17:51to think that far ahead.
17:52I was just like,
17:53I was in full meltdown mode.
17:55What's so interesting
17:57is what's going on
17:58inside your head
17:59is nowhere near
18:01what's actually going on
18:02around you.
18:03So Stephen going,
18:04he's probably lying about that.
18:06Ellie thinking that
18:07that's just a complete red herring
18:08that I'm throwing out there
18:09and I've definitely got...
18:10All these theories,
18:11you go,
18:11oh, it wasn't that obvious,
18:12was it?
18:13I think in this game,
18:14you're damned if you do
18:15and you're damned if you don't.
18:16So there's no rules to it,
18:17is there?
18:17Follow the lead, yeah.
18:18The only thing that I think
18:20is a rule
18:20is be consistent.
18:21Whatever you are,
18:22if you're outspoken,
18:23stay outspoken.
18:24If you're not outspoken,
18:25don't be more outspoken
18:26or whatever,
18:27just stay constant.
18:28It's very hard.
18:29It's really, really difficult.
18:30I thought,
18:31I'm going to smash that.
18:32So did I.
18:34But yeah,
18:35I mean,
18:36I think you go in
18:37with an idea
18:38that you really have got it,
18:40you know how it's going to work
18:41and then things just change
18:42like that.
18:43Yeah, yeah.
18:44I particularly noticed
18:44that with you actually, Sam.
18:45I think you went in there
18:46like, let's go,
18:47I've got this
18:48and then within,
18:49I'd say, 24 hours,
18:50you're like,
18:50oh, no.
18:51No idea.
18:52Everyone thinks I'm a traitor.
18:53You know me so well,
18:54I feel like we're twins.
18:54It's really weird.
18:57Yeah,
18:58I couldn't agree more.
18:59I think, to be honest,
19:00I was disappointed
19:01when I didn't get selected
19:02as a traitor
19:03at the round table.
19:04So I immediately went,
19:05right, game time,
19:06let's go.
19:07And, you know,
19:08I saw a massive change
19:10in Judy's personality.
19:11So did 15 others.
19:13It was just me
19:14who was the loudest, probably.
19:15You were spreading the seed,
19:17apparently.
19:17Apparently I was.
19:18But the seed was also
19:19being spread to me.
19:20And then you do,
19:23I genuinely felt
19:24so sure about it
19:25and then it doesn't,
19:27she says faithful
19:28and you go,
19:29whoop.
19:29And that shakes you
19:30and then you go,
19:31right, I thought
19:32I was being a good faithful,
19:34getting names out there,
19:35getting theories out there,
19:35circulating.
19:36Actually,
19:37that might look like
19:37a weird traitorous move
19:40being deceptive
19:41and then going very reserved,
19:43which I'm not,
19:44but I thought I had to be
19:45because I had to take a back seat.
19:46I just wanted to go home.
19:48Well,
19:49eventually,
19:50you did get to go home.
19:52I did, yeah.
19:54Thank you for reminding me,
19:55I did.
19:56And your banishment speech
19:58was a wonderful bit of theatre,
20:00so let's remind ourselves of that.
20:02Raz,
20:04Matt,
20:06guest persistence is key.
20:08I have
20:12always been
20:14a
20:16faithful.
20:23You loved doing that,
20:24didn't you?
20:24I was just praying
20:27that I'd be given the chance
20:28to get banished
20:29and not murdered.
20:30Yes.
20:30Because, you know,
20:31after having that much
20:32scrutiny in here
20:33on you for that long,
20:33you just want
20:34the fingers up
20:36moment.
20:36You want that satisfaction,
20:37don't you?
20:37The satisfaction to go,
20:39I am a faithful.
20:39And so sorry, Adam,
20:40that you didn't get
20:41the opportunity to do that.
20:42Oh, no.
20:43Did you have an idea
20:44of what you might say
20:45if you were banished
20:46rather than murdered?
20:47Yeah,
20:47just come out,
20:48I'm a faithful,
20:49you idiots.
20:49Yeah.
20:52Great.
20:53A bit more to the point.
20:55Some of these people,
20:57they flower it up a lot,
20:58don't they, Sam?
21:00Personally, I love that.
21:00And you held it
21:01right to the T of traitor
21:02as well.
21:02You could see your mouth
21:03form the T
21:03and then you're faithful.
21:04Yeah.
21:04Yeah, that was great.
21:05Yeah, I said that to you,
21:06didn't I?
21:06Brilliant.
21:07Really good.
21:08Sam, can you talk us
21:09through what you meant
21:09when you said to Matt
21:10and Firas,
21:10I guess persistence
21:11is the key?
21:12Oh, they just didn't
21:13get off my back
21:14for the whole time there
21:16and it was just
21:17every round table
21:17and you,
21:18well, Firas from the start
21:19and he just consistently
21:20me, me, me, me, me.
21:22And then Matt started
21:23just turning to me
21:24and going,
21:24I think it's you.
21:26I really do.
21:27And I was just like,
21:28oh God, here's another one
21:29and they just didn't
21:30let me go
21:30for the whole time
21:32and I just thought,
21:33oh God,
21:33just let them know.
21:34Just want, yeah,
21:35just really rub it
21:36in their faces.
21:36Yeah.
21:37Because they must have
21:38been so excited.
21:38I mean, everyone
21:39was so excited
21:39and you go,
21:40I guess persistence
21:40is the key.
21:41Yeah.
21:42Here's what I am
21:42and poor Jesse though
21:44is ready to pop.
21:44I know, yeah.
21:46Oh, literally.
21:47Yeah.
21:48And Stephen,
21:49Stephen also looked
21:50completely different.
21:50I know.
21:50He did very well
21:51in that moment.
21:52He did act very well then.
21:53When you were leading people
21:54down the garden path,
21:55he obviously knows
21:55what you're about to say
21:56but I thought he did
21:57a really good job
21:58of reacting in the moment.
21:59He's brilliant.
22:00Yeah, okay,
22:01he slipped up a couple of times
22:02and he's been under the cosh
22:04a couple of times
22:04but he is brilliant
22:05at maintaining
22:07that kind of authentic shock
22:09but also really interested
22:10in other people's bit.
22:11He balances it really well.
22:13But he did look guilty
22:14a lot of the time
22:15at the round table
22:16to the audience outside.
22:19Obviously not to you.
22:20It's a lot harder
22:21when you're sitting
22:22at the table, yeah,
22:23because there's so many faces
22:24in front of you.
22:24You're just like,
22:25oodle of that.
22:25It must be hard
22:26to run out of the room
22:27when you've admitted
22:28and not just stand there
22:28and watch all the reactions
22:29and, you know,
22:30because you've just got to leave.
22:31Yeah.
22:32So we saw Stephen
22:33make a mistake
22:34at the round table
22:35when he was talking
22:36about the family tree
22:37murder,
22:38shortlist in plain sight.
22:39He said,
22:40I was thinking about this
22:41last night
22:41and then had to quickly go
22:42this morning
22:43because no one else
22:44was supposed to know
22:45about it last night.
22:46Why did neither of you
22:47pick up on that happening?
22:49Mate,
22:49it just went,
22:50so am I.
22:51Yeah.
22:51I didn't clock it.
22:52I think in there
22:53because time
22:54is not a thing in there.
22:57You look like,
22:57you guys will know,
22:58you lose total track of time.
22:59You have no perception
23:00of time.
23:01And it's very easy
23:02to say,
23:03was it this morning?
23:03It was actually
23:04yesterday afternoon
23:05or was it tonight?
23:05I can't remember.
23:06So actually,
23:07a mistake like that,
23:08you go,
23:08that's fair.
23:09Yeah.
23:10But then when you see into it
23:11and you get the context around it,
23:12you go like,
23:12that was a big mistake.
23:13That's annoying.
23:15Stephen done a very
23:16shit-stirring pretty much
23:17for you
23:18in that episode.
23:19He twisted the spoon.
23:21Do you know what I mean?
23:22Which made people
23:22divert to you.
23:23And then you,
23:24in the mission,
23:25then went,
23:26being selfish,
23:28I'm going to get a shield.
23:29You thought Sam
23:29was a traitor
23:30at the beginning.
23:31I did.
23:31You had suspicions.
23:35Yeah.
23:35What was it?
23:36You said we weren't friends.
23:38That's why I left you
23:39in the cage.
23:40Yeah, that's fair.
23:41Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:42Let's not bring that up.
23:43Actually, let's.
23:44Yeah.
23:45A moment of catharsis.
23:47Yeah, yeah.
23:47I mean,
23:47we're definitely going to
23:48bring the cage up.
23:49That was a particularly
23:50brutal moment
23:51that you were left
23:53in a cage, Sam,
23:54and not able to even
23:54take part in the mission.
23:56It was a lot more
23:56impactful than I thought
23:57it would be.
23:58You know,
23:58like I said,
23:59in the interview,
23:59it takes you back to school
24:00and you're like,
24:00oh, I didn't get picked.
24:02What school did you go to?
24:03Locked in a cage
24:04and you were,
24:05stay there
24:05at the end of the day.
24:08And then doing a mission
24:09where you're voted
24:10unanimously
24:10as the most arrogant
24:11as well.
24:12Yeah, yeah.
24:12And that was alarmingly quick.
24:14We voted for that one.
24:16It could have at least
24:16taken some time.
24:17The mission was
24:18answer it quickly,
24:18but I was still surprised
24:19at how quickly
24:20we answered it.
24:21Of course,
24:22of course you're going
24:22to be arrogant.
24:23Look at us.
24:24Look at us.
24:24Oh.
24:24Yeah, I've had a lot
24:28of messages,
24:28you know,
24:29are you brothers,
24:30are you twins or something?
24:31And we can now reveal.
24:33Being in the room
24:34with you now,
24:34it's much more of an
24:35uncle and nephew situation,
24:37sadly.
24:38Now, this is obviously
24:39the first time ever
24:40that we've had a secret
24:40traitor on the show.
24:42What did you both make
24:43of this twist
24:43when you first heard
24:44about it?
24:45When we saw episode one,
24:46that's when we found
24:46about the secret traitor
24:47and absolutely loved it.
24:49Like, my mind was blown,
24:50but it was also,
24:51it was so refreshing
24:52to know that the whole
24:54of the nation
24:54would now be playing
24:56as a faithful as well.
24:57I can't sit at home
24:58on the sofa and say,
25:00how did you not spot that?
25:02So we were all
25:02playing together
25:03and I absolutely loved it
25:05and I loved the fact
25:05that the traitors
25:06didn't have an upper hand.
25:08Do you wish it had
25:08gone on longer?
25:09Because we did,
25:09as a viewer, I did.
25:11I wish we didn't get it revealed.
25:12I wanted to play along
25:13for longer.
25:13I think it would have
25:14been difficult
25:14because the secret traitor
25:16had to nominate
25:17three people for murder
25:18each time.
25:20It would have been difficult
25:21to carry that on
25:22to a point where
25:22it wouldn't have been easy
25:23for the actual traitors
25:24to guess who
25:25the one was.
25:26Yeah, the length.
25:27So they kind of released
25:28at a time where
25:29Stephen and Rachel
25:30were already getting pissed off
25:32and you could sense
25:33that tension
25:34when Fiona walked
25:35into the turret
25:35that it's not like
25:37we're in this together.
25:38They're against each other already.
25:39Would you have been fuming?
25:40I would have been fuming.
25:42Absolutely.
25:42How would you have reacted?
25:44Show us your reaction, Linda.
25:45You are joking.
25:47Wow.
25:48I would have bought that.
25:50Really good reaction.
25:51Linda, that's how you reacted
25:52to everything.
25:53Yeah.
25:54There's no more coffee.
25:56Are you joking?
25:57Are you serious?
25:59Is it true that your daughter
26:00was making notes
26:01on who the secret tracer
26:02should be
26:03when you were watching it?
26:04Yeah, yeah.
26:05She was adamant
26:06it was me.
26:08Adamant?
26:09I was like,
26:09no, you'll find out.
26:10You don't know
26:11where he's, where he is.
26:12So, on to tonight's murder.
26:14It's obviously
26:15another pivotal moment
26:16for the traitors.
26:17Who do we think
26:18the traitors
26:18are going to pick
26:19out of Jesse,
26:20Faraz and Matt?
26:22Jesse is on Stephen.
26:25Yeah.
26:25And Stephen and Rachel
26:27have got a decision to make
26:28where Stephen thinks
26:29if I murder her
26:31it's going to look weird
26:32but if I don't
26:34and she sticks around
26:34it's going to get
26:35really tough for me.
26:36Yeah.
26:37True.
26:38Faraz couldn't be linked
26:40to anyone.
26:40Yeah.
26:41And Matt,
26:42Matt's a tricky one
26:43because they have
26:44good inside information
26:45about Matt
26:45wanting to be recruited.
26:47Yes.
26:48And keeping
26:49the questions to himself.
26:51Which is a very
26:52interesting game plan.
26:53How did you react
26:54when you saw
26:55that he did that?
26:56He used his two questions
26:57for the traitors
26:58to do that.
26:59I wasn't surprised.
27:00Did you feel betrayed
27:01in any way
27:02as both faithfuls?
27:03No, I knew he had it in him.
27:04I knew he had it in him.
27:05Yeah.
27:05I didn't feel betrayed
27:06or surprised.
27:08My main reaction was
27:10why is he being so Cajun
27:11not telling anyone
27:12what it was?
27:13Yeah.
27:13On the train to the castle,
27:14Sam,
27:15you asked Adam a question
27:16which I think it's only right
27:17to ask him again now.
27:19Adam,
27:19did you find any ghosts
27:20in the castle?
27:21Um,
27:22yeah,
27:23I spotted one.
27:24Did you?
27:24Yeah.
27:24Really?
27:25And was it the ghost
27:26of a previous player?
27:28Yes.
27:28No,
27:29I don't think it was
27:29a ghost of a previous player
27:31but as I was walking
27:32up the stairwell
27:33someone followed me up.
27:34Yeah.
27:35No.
27:35And I got to the top
27:36and there was a lady standing
27:37and I turned around
27:38to say thank you
27:38to the lady
27:39and there was no one there.
27:41So yeah,
27:42yeah.
27:43Are we sure that wasn't Rachel?
27:44Because she's done a great job.
27:45No,
27:45she has done,
27:46she has done
27:47with a knife
27:48really well
27:49but yeah,
27:49it did freak me out
27:50and it needs
27:51a proper investigation.
27:54It's great.
