Après une longue absence, Solange, la mère de Laura, grand-mère de Charlie, débarque à la ferme… Elle est française, féministe et excentrique. Solange a quitté l'Amérique alors que sa fille était encore une enfant et elles ne se sont jamais beaucoup revues.
