A dramatic incident involving a husband, wife and her alleged lover unfolded in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, after a suspicious husband caught his wife red-handed in a hotel room with another man. The high-voltage scene created chaos inside a hotel near the city bus stand and drew police intervention.
The incident occurred on January 11 at Kama Hotel, located in the Navabad police station area. According to police, the husband had been suspecting his wife’s movements for some time and was tracking her activities. His suspicion turned into confirmation when he found her in a hotel room with another man and immediately alerted the police.
When the husband entered the room along with police personnel, the alleged lover panicked and attempted to hide under the bed to escape. However, the police soon pulled him out. The incident led to loud arguments and commotion in the hotel corridors and room, attracting the attention of hotel staff and guests.
Instead of showing remorse, the wife reportedly reacted aggressively. In front of police and onlookers, she claimed she had not been living with her husband for the past two years and said she was ready to divorce him, stating that he was “dead” to her. Her reaction reportedly left even the police surprised.
The husband told police that he had married the woman about three years ago. Soon after the marriage, disputes began between them. In 2023, the wife had filed a case against him, which was later settled. He said he then moved to her maternal uncle’s house in Sipri Bazaar in an attempt to save the marriage. While relations improved briefly, he alleged that his wife continued to secretly meet her lover.
Navabad police took the husband, wife and the alleged lover into custody and brought them to the police station. Station in-charge Ravi Srivastava said the police have received a complaint from the husband and further legal action is being taken accordingly.
