No break-in in tragic Sri Aman deaths; no arrests yet

Police have ruled out a break-in in the deaths of married couple Andy Roy, 45, a headmaster, and his wife Angeline Steven, 44, a nurse, found at their home near Taman Mutiara, Sri Aman, Sarawak, on Wednesday (Jan 14).  The couple’s three children are now with relatives, with support from the Social Welfare Department. 00:00Police have ruled out a house break-in in the case of a married couple found dead at

00:06their home near Taman Mutyara in Shri Aman on Wednesday.

00:10The victims were identified as 45-year-old Andy Roy Junran, a headmaster, and his 44-year-old

00:16wife, Angeline Stephen Kibbin, a nurse.

00:19Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohammad Zainal Abdullah told Swara Sarawak on Thursday

00:25that no valuables were reported missing from the couple's residence.

00:29He said a forensic team dispatched to the scene has yet to determine the cause of death,

00:34although both victims were found with severe injuries.

00:38The couple's children discovered their bodies after they woke up in the early hours of the

00:41morning.

00:43Police are actively gathering evidence and recording witness statements to assist the investigation.

00:49The bodies of both victims were sent to Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

00:55As of Thursday morning, no arrests had been made in connection with the case, which is

00:59being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder.

01:04Mohammad Zainal said the Shri Aman District Police Headquarters received a report at 6.55

01:10a.m. and confirmed that both victims had died at the scene.

01:14Meanwhile, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Shrinansi Shukri said the Social

01:21Welfare Department would provide psychosocial support to the couple's three children.

01:27She said the children are currently staying with close relatives and expressed hope that proper

01:32legal procedures would be followed through the courts to appoint suitable and eligible guardians.
