X is acting to “ensure full compliance with UK law” but the Government “will not back down”, the Prime Minister has told MPs in the row over the social media platform's AI chatbot Grok.Speaking during Prime Minister's Questions, Sir Keir Starmer was responding to a question from Emily Darlington, Labour MP for Milton Keynes Central, over concerns that Grok was producing sexualised images of women and children.

00:21And we are absolutely determined to take action here. We have made it clear that X has to
00:26act, and if not, Ofcom has our full backing and will introduce and are introducing legislation.
00:33Mr Speaker, to update the House, I have been informed this morning that X is acting to
00:39ensure full compliance with UK law. If so, that is welcome, but we are not going to back
00:46down. They must act. We will take the necessary measures. We will strengthen existing laws
00:51and prepare for legislation if it needs to go further. And Ofcom will continue its independent
00:58investigation.
