00:00The fact that I feel today is a breakthrough for Greater Manchester and the north of England,
00:04I hope gives people confidence that it actually is a breakthrough.
00:07I hope they know me well enough by now to know I would never accept second best for the north of England.
00:14I would never accept a half promise or a false promise linked to election near England.
00:19I wouldn't ever accept that under any government, actually.
00:21I can approach my job and I will tell any government what I believe is right for us and the part of the world that I represent.
00:28And the fact that I can do that today is because we have the first Chancellor of the Exchequer
00:33and the first Transport Secretary who has actually broken through some of the attempts that we've had
00:39to give Greater Manchester second-class infrastructure, the cut price option.
00:44They've actually opened the door to the right solution at Piccadilly, which is an underground station.
00:48So I can stand today and say, yes, this represents a real change.
