00:00Forest Firemen in Victoria have got about 400 firefighters out today and they'll have a big night shift.
00:08CFA will be doing all of the asset protection works but there's not as many firefighters out now
00:14because the fires are not running hard. We don't need to do the asset protection.
00:18So a lot of the work is trying to contain those fires, so that's building control lines
00:23and doing back burning and burning out operations to solidify those edges of the fire.
00:29So they don't run again when the fire weather picks up.
00:32And as early as the 23rd of January, 24th of January, we're expecting significant fire weather again.
00:40So the work that our crews do between now and that next spike day is going to be critical
00:48because these are big fires, there's a lot of fire in the landscape
00:51and we need to make sure we contain as much of this as possible.
00:56The chances are that some of these fires will continue to run during that next peak weather period.
01:04So really important for the community to stay very much attuned with what's going on.
01:09We're still early in our summer. There will be new lightning storms and new fires.
01:13So this is one of the most challenging seasons we've faced for a very long time.
01:19There's a lot of fire and more of the fire and more of the fire results to be in the wild.
01:28That has been a great day for a long time.
01:29On the daily basis of the fire and then we're still having to be in the wild and a huge
01:32time in our country for a long time.
01:34It will be free to have a good day for a long time.
