00:00All right, breaking news. After a 19-year run with the Steelers, Pittsburgh and Mike Tomlin are officially parting ways.
00:06I did not think this was going to happen going into that wild card round playoff game,
00:11but after what we saw on Monday night primetime football, I get it. I think it's time.
00:17We all know about Mike Tomlin and what he has brought to the game of football and the organization.
00:22He's highly decorated. His resume is Hall of Fame worthy. Super Bowl champ, no losing seasons during his time in Pittsburgh, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
00:32We know, but he hasn't been able to get it done in the playoffs.
00:36This Thursday will actually be the nine-year anniversary of his last playoff win.
00:41Steelers haven't won a playoff game since 2016.
00:44But what I think ultimately got him fired was his inability to have a quarterback that can take him over that hump
00:52and win playoff games since he had Ben Roethlisberger.
00:56Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and that's just to name some of them.
01:04None of those guys could get it done and could save this man's job.
01:08Year after year, I feel like he relied on his defense to get them over that hump in the playoffs.
01:14And then when we get there, the key players like Amika Fitzpatrick or TJ Watt or even Cam Hayward
01:20will end up being hurt and not be available come money time.
01:24The Steelers are going to be looking for their fourth coach since 1969.
01:30So you got to expect that hiring process to be very meticulous and thorough.
01:35So as for Mike Tomlin, I feel like this man can get any job that he wants.
01:39And he'll become the most attractive coach in this hiring cycle if he decides to get right back into coaching.
01:46He can take a gap year like Mike Vrabel did.
01:48But instantly, he and John Harbaugh are now the 1A and the 1B depending on what these NFL GMs and these teams are looking for.
01:58Just off the top of the head, the first team or organization that makes the most sense, the Atlanta Falcons.
02:05But Mike T, out in Pittsburgh after 19 seasons.
02:085.
02:096.
02:097.
02:098.
02:108.
02:109.
02:119.
02:119.
02:119.
02:1210.
02:12You
